  1. Trapped

    I take a breath
    and notice it
    (they say be mindful)
    And I think,
    why am I still breathing?
    And the next…
    In each moment
    Over and over
Like the pain I can’t escape
    it just keeps
    within the futility
    of all I’ve tried
I’m completely trapped until I die

I've encountered this sentiment before--quite alot actually. What most don't realize, is that we are still trapped in nature upon death, in that "eternal cage." We just won't know it.

But, I suppose there is a certain freedom to death. Freedom from thought, from sentience. Maybe that's what you meant. Ah, anyway, philosophical notions aside, that was a superb poem.

Yes, it was superb - so poignantly and beautifully expressed. I only wish you didn't have these feelings. I so wish I could take away your despair.
