"Another man is in my life, but I want you in my heart.
If I could make the choice again, on whom I take in life
I would have rewound all of time and taken you from the start
Lying here on the cold hard bed, missing you near me
Your hands they held the softest touch, your ears yielded to me"

Time apart does the heart good, but only to a point.
"Why must we be separated like this? It makes me want to cry
You tell me that you love me, and you show how much you care
But how can all of this be true? If you’re staying with this one guy?"

A diamond ring and many dates later, the lucky two were engaged
The girl had never changed her mind, and made the biggest mistake
She went steady with the man before, never giving her true love a chance
Her love sat outside that night, when he herd the news
"I’ve gone and gotten married Hun, but your still the one I choose."
The phone had dropped to the ground, when she said those few words
He would never hold her in his arms again, he had everything to loose

Ohh, he loved her and she loved him, but the two were torn apart.
He cried himself to sleep at night, while lying in his bed.
He tossed and he turned all night, with her thoughts in his head.
While she sang herself to sleep at night his picture by her bed.

On her honeymoon night she wept, thinking of her newly wedded man
She looked to his sleeping body, when she devised a plan
She took a bottle of Champaign, and smashed it over his head.
And still in her wedding dress, she drove down the bend.
She stopped in front of a country house, painted freshly in red
She hopped out of the car, to see her love still in bed.

"Wake up honey its me, I’ve finally come back for you.
Don't keep me waiting here, we have so very much to do."
she rolled him on his side, and gasped back with tears
He had a bullet in his chest, surrounded by several beers

They buried him in the garden a cloudy day in July
All she could do was stand there, as inside, she began to die
She fell down to her knees and red his tomb over and over again
“Here he lies, death by a broken heart” was all that now remains
Thirty years down the road form his death, she still sits there
Staring at that shallow grave, rocking in her chair.

Ohh, he loved her and she loved him, but the two were torn apart.
He cried himself to sleep at night, while lying in his bed.
He tossed and he turned all night, with her thoughts in his head.
While she sang herself to sleep at night his picture by her bed.

Twas a song I wrote, and am still composing melodies to, perhaps some day I might be able to post the finished product
