This is a song I wrote about growing up with someone, and watching them change into... well... an undesirable person.

Every day I see you in candid memories
    that riddle my thoughts
with a sequence of enamored events, i'd rather just forget about
the threading of this science has pulled apart
    convictions are wasting away
    I'm quiet and composed
of expressions worth the effort for faking

    Stepping into the rain
to think about your still life,
    and possibilities
    of a prospect of friends
who wont say you need to improve
in this day by day routine

You choke your stare with aimless glances
hold back from saying anything at all
I can see it in your jaded expression
we're getting so much older now

And our untaught confidence is slipping away
the learning of habits shows us who we are
We'll hear it every time our voices swell
with a surge of echoes bouncing back
