    This hour drags by,
    Moment by moment.
    So many more to pass,
    To overcome
    Through Blackness,
    Bleak, dark, absence of Light
    And Hope
    Before morning will break,
And the sea will begin once more
    To crash upon the shore...

Passing the clusters of lonely people
    We can't trust.
It's a fault of human nature,
How did we get this way?
    That we won't help
    The vunerable, lost, alone,
    Far from home,
    We fear
    The unknown, nameless faces, faceless
Huddled, they try to make sense of it -
    Their situation.
    They may never be saved,
    They lose themselves,
    Their reality,
    In alcohol -
An escape from this cold, harsh reality
And the hours pass more quickly
    Through the cold.

    Until the morning -
    Daylight breaking through the clouds,
    Bringing with it relief.
    The streets, still deserted,
    The empty sand.
    And here i stand
    And just watch the beauty,
    The endless cycle,
    Though its not the same,
    Such incredible strength
    Lies within
    As it crashes,
    Only to lose momentum
At the last moment, and just break upon the sand,
    Catching the early sunlight,
Like broken glass, glittering upon the shore
    At my feet.
    I sit
    And I'm content.

Don't know why I did that - quote one part when the whole thing *begs* quoting - it seems to sum everything up. You have such a gift in expressing yourself and the deep sorrow - and the essence of despair in waiting - and dying in a moment as well as finding hope in it. You really are something else!
You've seen much...Had your soul torn, your feet and all that is fundamental knocked out from under you. It comes through in your words. And I know the feeling, in my own world and life. Your words really move me - I don't know if it helps - me saying so - but I thought I ought to. For me, my words are all I have left...

Can't help but see the irony in that, when it feels like its the last thing i can do. Anyway, thanks.
