The urge to self-harm keeps coming back, especially when I'm in class. I'm not sure what to do, since I'm trying to keep resisting but I did give in once.

Hi, I am so sorry to hear that you are suffering. But you have to remain strong as you are important. I think you should try to the alternative an elastic band. You are young and need to tell someone the way you feel. There is nothing to be ashamed off. You are here as you know we all understand what you going through. Keep posting here for the support you deserve. Keep safe my friend.

Hey, thanks for answering. I haven't tried the elastic band as I tend to scribble on a piece of paper when I'm stressed during a lecture. I haven't told anyone because I'm living in a university residence right now and I don't know how they'll react.

Hi, as you are at University suffering from unnecessary duress there will be specialist counsellors who deal with situations. Your can ask if your privacy will be guaranteed and I think it will be. No one will judge you as it will be against university policy to divulge anything about you. You have to be strong with yourself and take the first step. You have nothing to be ashamed of, as you are a young and have the rest of your life to live for. Please use my advice and research into the counselling facilities. I also suggest that you speak to someone like a close trusted friend or a member of your student forum if one exists. You have to get through the weekend but keep posting as we can help you.

I've actually been considering going to counselling at my school.

Please go and speak to someone as your family will be worried about.. You can do it as it will release the pressure and the anxiety you feel. Just think that someone in this big nasty world does care about you and your feelings. Keep posting as we all care about others suffering. We as a forum try our best to help others who need not suffer on their own.

You are young and brave. Please be safe and take.

I get really sad at school, and I started keeping a pencil sharpener blade hidden in my binder, taking "bathroom breaks" regularly. I feel much safer from myself at home, is that normal?
