Hey! I totally get where you're coming from. Balancing eating habits and exercise can be a real rollercoaster. Have you thought about trying VR fitness? It's a cool way to mix up your routine without putting too much strain on those injuries. Plus, there are loads of resources online, so you can find something that suits your body and your style. Keep experimenting and remember, progress is progress, no matter how small!

I hear you on the struggles with weight and finding a balance with eating. It can be tough, especially with past eating disorders and injuries affecting your exercise routine. Have you tried focusing on small, sustainable changes in your diet? I've been into healthy eating lately and found ordering all natural food online super convenient—it's helped me stick to nutritious choices without the stress of meal planning. As for workouts, have you checked out YouTube channels like Body Positivity Yoga or FitnessBlender? They have inclusive workouts that cater to different body types and fitness levels.

I've found meal planning really helps me stay on track, but it's a constant effort. As for workouts, I've been exploring options too, and it can be frustrating when mainstream programs don't fit larger bodies or accommodate injuries.

Hello @VallStorm and welcome to SF!

I, too, have found frustration in mainstream programs, one program I have found and is easy on the joints and body are the Silver Sneakers videos available on Youtube.

I am also going to try a chair yoga video I bought on impulse ages ago.

Best wishes in your search!

As of 8.700 feet altitude you lose weight without doing anything - even if you eat as much as you like. OK, you have to take care of Asthma (if I read correctly) and I would take two or three days to get used to the height. But assured is, that if you spend 4 weeks vacation on lake Titicaca (which is 3.800 meters high) your KGs are gone automatically. But it depends if you are fit enough - ask the doctor.

See here (University Zürich) https://www.wired.com/2010/02/high-altitude-weight-loss/

3000 meters is really feasible (I mean if you land in Addis Ababa or Khartoum, you are nearly there). I saw people coming back from there and could not believe what I saw.... Otherwise water/pool - as knees and hips are not so much under pressure, as walking.

I've also recently stumbled upon a channel that focuses on low-impact exercises for all body types. It's been a game-changer for me, offering modifications that suit my needs. Also, regarding your journey, have you considered alternative supports like steroids? I've heard positive experiences from others using them to complement their fitness goals. Always research thoroughly and consult professionals, but it might be worth exploring.

I know it's been a while, but weight loss can feel like an uphill battle. I've been through some of that myself, and it helps to find something you enjoy doing so it doesn’t feel like a chore. Have you ever tried yoga? I thought it wouldn’t be enough for weight loss initially, but it's surprisingly effective and makes you feel amazing overall. Plus, there's no pressure to be perfect with it—you go at your own pace, which is great if you’re just easing into exercise.

Some apps and programs can keep things organized and make classes easier if you're interested. Some of the best software for yoga studios streamlines the process so you can book courses, track progress, and even try virtual classes if that fits your schedule better.

I consider my yoga classes to be strength training workouts. I have lost some weight, but more importantly I have lost a decent amount of my protruding belly.

I think it has something to do with forward folds (meaning you bend forward at your hip) and not being able to do them at first because my gut prevented me from getting past 90 degrees or so. Now I can reach the ground after a warm up. My hypothesis is that I was so uncomfortable that my body responded by improving in that area.

I’ve also done kettlebell training with a trainer. They are amazing for core strength. They are an advanced exercise, though, so I would recommend a trainer to supervise you until you get the feel of good form. Doing the wrong form can throw out your lower back seriously.
