Just interested to know what after effects (physical or psychological) people have suffered from after doing an attempt. I know we are not allowed to discuss methods, and this might even put people off.

After one attempt, I had the runs for 2 weeks. After another attempt, this is a strange one, but I keep smelling fumes whenever a car drives past. I even can smell peoples gas heating when going past some people's houses. At first I was really worried and thought that the person in the house had a gas leak and I was nearly going to go in and see if they were okay. My attempt had nothing to do with gas in houses either.

After I did that particular attempt I didn't discuss it with anyone because I was warned that if I made an attempt I would be sectioned. But about 4 months after I did discuss and noticed that the fumes got less.

I've had plenty of od attempts next time I'll make sure I get it right for once. But from the attempts I've made it has resulted in kidney faiure which can't be cured other than when my function gets low enough I need to go on dialysis or long term a transplant even way if still alive at that point (hopefully not) I would refuse any treatment

One time last year after an attempt I couldn't pee for the best part of the week, prob not the greatest thing as my kidney function is already poor.

Psychologically I can't drink orange or pineapple juice anymore, it always tastes like my meds :puke:

Physically, I got pretty sick for a couple of days and thought i would never try to OD again. I feel sick as hell whenever i take meds especially without something to drink. Thats how i did it when i ODed, so now I get sick as hell even thinking about taking meds without water. The idea of feeling pills slide down my throat puts me on the verge of vomiting. Among those are a surplus of scars that get THAT question, but I never tell the truth about them.

Christ, well I have kidney and liver failure.

Unfortunately now I can't do much about the liver failure. I wish I had never done what I did. Be careful-you may think you want to die and then when its too late you realise maybe life is worthing sticking with.

personally, i have done quite few attemtpts, and i have unfortunetly survived all of them, although i have came close quite a few times [ending up in ICU]. ermm side affects, when i tried jumping, all i kept on thinking was i need something higher. when ive tried ODing, ive had stomach cramps, cant eat without throwing up, cant smoke - which aint good. ermm also ive got a bad liver now, it aint failing but it aint doing its job properly. my kidneys are basically f!*@ed at the moment. ive had a miscarriage, bout 2 months ago through ODing as well, which leads to even more guilt. ive had hangover affects also. cant really remmeber the rest, but ive had some really wierd ones. i member one time, is when i was admitted to hospitoal for ODing and drinking, then about 30 mins later, i coudnt stop laughing all though i still wanted to die.

i attempted using carbon monoxide pioisoning. Fucking wannabe "hero" pulled me out before i had fully sucumbed although i has been unconscious forabout 7 minutes.
Im now left with pretty severe short term memory loss. Its really hard for me to remember things people tell me or even their names if i just met them. not fun

It's really weird what you say about smells. I notice that also. Now you mention it it does smell like gas. It's in the air all around me. It's really freaky and it actually scares me. I am glad it is not just me.

I find it all really weird. I've never mentioned it to anyone before. Only to my bf who said he couldn't smell it. It really freaked me out that after an attempt I could smell this smell in the air and it would hang on my clothes. I seriously thought it was hospital lodged in my nostrills!

When I have smealt I have asked my other half and he smelt it too. But with cars going past, he wouldn't normally smell it. Was your attempt to do with gas? Mine was.

I've oded many times in my short life, and thankfully havent suffered any physical effects.
Unfortunately, now I find it really hard to take paracetamol (which is what I ODed on each time). I shudder and gag as it goes down my throat. Its really hard even to take two.
Its annoying when I've got a headache or any other physical pain!

i have some memory loss now and the runs :shy: this time...other times i was nauseated after my od's each time but didn't have the memory loss. The memory loss bugs me the most. But that is the price i am paying.

Umm I dunno I think my organs are fucked up sometimes... Especially my liver. It can't handle things as well anymore I don't think. And scars on my arm of course.

I suffered a muscle spasm from an OD once. The doctor in the emergency room got all the interns to check it out coz they'd never seen it before. I guess that's my 15 minutes of fame huh?

The Popularity of the Overdose its mainly a womens method, the illusion is that you fall asleep and never wake up again.
The Problem is that it has a high failure rate and people can end up seriously disabled even veg like from this.
