What music have you seen live?

I know, right. I thought I’d been to a fair few concerts until I saw people’s lists o_O

LOL@“tbh he's not done much since he died.” Don’t you hate that? Reminds me, Prince played some shows in Melbourne before he died (or maybe he died first). I say “played some shows” not “toured” because they were at small venues and cost like $300/ticket minimum. I looked at them and just couldn’t afford it.
Oh man, that would have been good though in small venue.
My memory is shot. I think the guy was from the Stranglers not the Damned. He seemed surprised I didnt recognise him. to be fair he didnt recognise me either!

The other week I remembered that I've been to a Dave Matthews Band concert where the opener was OAR as well. So that's another group I've seen. But I wasn't too big a fan.

Great post. I love live music and have been to many concerts. Some I’ve regrettably missed. These are the ones I’ve been to:

-Prince
-Elton John
-Radiohead
-Huey Lewis and the News
-The Dandy Warhols
-Air
-Goldfrapp
-Sigur Ros
-Gus Gus
-Depeche Mode (twice)
-Neil Diamond (three times, I have no shame and he’s awesome lol)
-Maceo Parker (also saw with Prince)
-Dr John
-Bjork
-Sloan
-Tom Petty (twice - regretted the second time)
-REM
-Pet Shop Boys - (twice)
-Jesse Roper
-Hugh Laurie (yes, the actor sings and plays piano!)
-The Flaming Lips
-Beck (twice)

There’s more.. but those are the ones that come to mind. Been to lots of music fests, classical music concerts, etc.

I wish I’d seen: Alice N Chains (when Layne Staley was still around), Chris Cornell (in any band), Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, maybe even Guns N Roses but back in like the 90’s. Lol.

Sorry @Walker, I'm really boring. I mostly don't go because I hate going out at night! My only claim to fame is that I saw Queen at the Hammersmith Odeon, Christmas Eve 1975 - THAT concert that they always show. I was right at the front near a camera and I'm on the film as one of them pans round. Happy days! I saw Simply Red in Dubai, that was a beautiful night. I went to see Kassav' at a music festival on Clapham Common and saw Maxi Priest and Freddie McGregor. If anyone I know logs in they are totally gonna know who I am just from this!*facepalm I know I've seen others but I just can't remember!

Oooooh, thanks @Walker for tagging me here, it's my new favourite thread *dance1 It's so nice to see all the artists everyone has seen, I see a lot of rock fans out there yay! Though remember, if you love some music, don't ever be ashamed of it!

My list is so long, I need to figure out a way to put it all

Green Day (oddly good show)
The first time I saw them I was 16 and I remember having the greatest time! Second time was a bit disappointing though.

Red Hot Chili Peppers (agree with @Walker it wasn't as good as I'd hoped)
That's a tad disappointing... I still hope to see them with a friend who's a fan

Oooh, were they good? I loved them as a teenager and completely forgot about them!

The Cure (more times than I can count)
I can't believe I haven't yet...

So lucky!!

Ooooh, so great! When did you see them, if I may ask? They were one of the first bands I listened to, it would be so nostalgic to see them

I love you!

Lucky! I can't believe I might never see them... They're still at the top of my list

That should have been fun! I'd love to see them

One of those bands that I want to see so bad but something always comes up ...

Thanks for the tag @Walker. I haven't been to as many concerts as I would've liked but most of them on the list I have been to multiple times over the past 40 years.

Rush (my absolute favorite)
Foreigner (my wife's absolute favorite)
Yanni (was sitting in the 7th row at the filming of the "Yanni Live!" DVD in Las Vegas the day before my birthday)
Boston
Sammy Hagar
Commodores
Milwaukee Summerfest (the largest music festival in the world. 15 stages and 800+ bands/performers over a span of 11-12 days)

Trans Siberian Orchestra - Christmas concert about 10 years ago?
Josh Groban - 3 to 5 years ago
Gordon Lightfoot - many years ago
Live symphony orchestra
Live baroque orchestra
Live performance of Handel’s Messiah
Live opera
John Denver (40+ years ago?)
Harry Belafonte (does anyone know who he is nowadays?)

Would like to see: Rolling Stones and a taping of America’s Got Talent in the later part of the series because it’s just so fake lol

ok @Freyja I have so many comments about this list that I don't even have time to comment right now. I hope I remember to come back to this! Holy shit. This is a fantastic list.

Also, @AsphyxiateOnWords @OfLoveAndDeath @gypsylee @1964dodge Anything to add here at all?
I hate this thread :( From memory the only band anyone was jealous of was INXS Kick Tour 1989. Australia is a giant pain in the ass for bands.

Henry Rollins comes every couple years and does spoken word at least.
