Just wondering if anyone that's been in a psych ward could tell me

what exactly will happen to you while you are there?

What help and support will they give you?

how long will you likely stay?

What happens if the medication and support they give you doesn't help?

    what happens when you leave?

    Did it help you?

Not much, spend time in your room, chat with nurses, other patients. Be bored lol.

See a psych everyday, therapy, etc.

    3 days-whenever. It varies.

They will find the right meds, and support.

    Follow-up appointments, meds, etc.

Sort of, I no longer hear any voices. But still depressed, and whatnot. But I lied to get out, something I would suggest not doing.

I doubt you will get support or help at a psyche ward. They notoriously treat the patients like cattle...even with disdain.Unless you have really great health insurance? If you don't..you are better off avoiding "wards".I hope you can get counselling though and medication if you need it.

Each unit is different even within 30 miles of one another. I have been to three would recommend one, indifferent to the second, and say no way to the third. What I have found out is that no matter which one you initially go to they can send you anywhere if they are full. If you can go to a good one, it is worthwhile.
