What's the one thing that made you smile today ?

I just met a wonderful woman this afternoon who lives in my neighborhood and had advertised on the local fb neighborhood page that she had a photographer's vest if someone wanted it. I responded to the post yesterday and we met up at her house this afternoon. Her dog in my face immediately (which I loved) and I just spent 90 minutes with her talking and sharing. Found out she just lost here husband 2 months ago, what an amazing man he sounded like. Photographer, craftsman, into magic, and astronomy. She is too with birds and other critters and the stars, so we found a lot to talk about. I mostly listened and she got to cry some and she absolutely refused my offer of anything monetarily even as for a church donation. I gave her my phone number and told her to call me anytime to chat or do anything and told her about the naturalist group out here that she could look up and find out about.
It was sad to have met her because of what initiated the meeting as she is giving or selling her partner's things but wonderful I got to meet someone nearby that may actually call me to go do something with in the future...We'll see.
So I'm also smiling because I am starting to believe that I can still meet people and have possible friendships or quality social time happen with others.

I found and listened to some great new bands today, through a record label and its compilations. I found a cool music blog, too. The record label ended in around 2005 and I was in too deep browsing their website from the late 90s and early 2000s. Unfortunately, the Wayback Machine is currently down because of a hacking issue. I hope it'll be back soon so I can busying myself browsing their old website.

At least 3 new restaurants opened in our town since my last being in London, and they all look like a Gordon Ramsey's fancy schmancy place, but they're affordable! We're trying out one of them tonight.

I'm rather shocked at the quality of the menus, the decor and the websites. It doesn't fit the little town in Greater London vibe, but I love it. :D
