i'm not sure this is the right place to post this but i need help and support. im at the point that im ready to just give up and give in. it seems that its one thing after another and so on. i had surgery on my knee in september and am still having some problems with it especially with the weather changes i will admit its better than it was. for the last few months ive been very sick. i cant hold food down for very long and it is mainly at night when i try to lay down and sleep i wake up and start throwing up for no reason. i feel very weak. i saw a specialist at the begining of the month.i have to have another surgery on may 17th to dialate my throat so i can swallow food and not have it get suck in my throat. so for the next 3 months i can only have food that i can not chew pretty much a liquid diet. that wouldnt be so bad because i dont eat much anyways but i cant even sit down to a decent meal with my daughter. that brings me to the next screw up. my therapist left and i am waiting for her to get certified with the insurance i have so i can continue to work with her. and right now its a waiting game. i havent had therapy in 4 weeks or so and im holding everything in because i dont want to burden anyone else with this crap. put on my happy mask and just pretend that everything is fine even though it feels like my world is spiraling out of control. next month on the 22nd is the two year anniversary of my brothers death he took his life. with everything that is going on right now im so mad at him for leaving me here. i need him and he is gone. it hurts so much. i dont want to hurt people but i dont know how to keep doing this on my own. im losing my will power. i havent self-harmed for awhile now, but im so close to doing it it scares me. i just want things to calm down i want to get control back and i cant figure out how to do this anymore. i just want to end it im to tired to keep fighting on my own but others dont need my drama or problems

It's not dramatic nor problematic to talk about your thoughts, feelings and problems to others. It's necessary to get things out of your chest. It's better doing so with someone who can listen to you and care about your well-being.

Happiness is not about keeping a smiling face. It's a process, where we learn to accept the life we have, through all the emotions. Sadness is just as important as joy. So do anger, fear and disgust. It's a very exhausting, hard and lonely journey to be happy. We on SF will help you as much as we can.

I'm sorry about your loss. Stay strong.

as you know @Bbear82 i have had a lot of bad health hits this year as well as some personal hits. it seems like before i can accept this hit another one comes, i get it. it's no fun having one thing go wrong and then another.

you have been very brave so far, i'm proud of you. there is one good thing though, it seems all your health issues will get better soon. may is a long time in a way but nothing in the grand scheme of things. i'm sorry you have to go through that about your brother. i hope you get back with your therapist soon, until then talk more here and talk to friends that care about you. and you know how to get hold of me.

Could you pay out of pocket for a session while you wait for her to be certified? What about seeing another therapist who is covered by your insurance during the interim?

However you handle it, it sounds like letting out how you feel to someone is a good idea.

I know that acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine is my answer to everything, but it might be worth a try for your digestion issues.

I hope something can help.

Sending hugs.

The best thing would probably be to see a Chinese herbalist. I could try to help you do that if you're interested.

I could try to make some suggestions about diet that might help. I can only offer amateur advice though, which is not ideal. Because you're dealing with serious symptoms, and health issues can be complicated, it would be best to get the help of a professional.
i had surgery on my knee in september and am still having some problems with it especially with the weather changes
Can you describe the weather changes that bring on the pain, and describe the pain (e.g., dull, sharp, heavy, cold, hot, etc.)?
for the last few months ive been very sick. i cant hold food down for very long and it is mainly at night when i try to lay down and sleep i wake up and start throwing up for no reason. i feel very weak
Do you have other symptoms like diarrhea or loose stools? Does your tongue have indentations on the sides?

I would appreciate all help you can give.the weather changes are from snow to rain or heat to cool and it’s a sharp pain but also feel like I’m pulling the muscle right above so my leg is giving out. No other symptoms not even nausea warning anymore just straight up throwing up with no warning

You might want to try staying away from anything raw or served cold (including water). Other things to avoid would be citrus, sugar or any sweetener, soy/tofu, milk, cheese, tomatoes, wheat, too much salt, and anything fried, fatty, or oily.

A little bit of powdered ginger may be helpful. You could also experiment with fresh ginger, black pepper, cloves, cardamom, and thyme to see what is most helpful to you.

Cooked carrot and beets may be good veggies for you in particular. Well cooked rice, rice milk, and small amounts of chicken and turkey may be good too.

Avoiding too much worry, stress, and thinking may help. Regular gentle aerobic exercise, like walking may be helpful, but just below the level of breaking a sweat ( you don't have to force it too hard in winter though if you're not feeling up to it).

In principle, something like digestive enzymes or tangerine peel might help, but you should probably talk to an acupuncturist or herbalist before trying these. An acupuncturist might in principle recommend moxibustion.

I hope something here can help, though really getting a formal diagnosis and advice on treatment would be best.
