Why do they lie?

Why do people lie? I was very sick last Fall, like tested for cancer, lupus and AIDS sick and now I hear the local rumor in my industry is I was "strung out"!!!
I wish that was simply the case...I want to move away...it is hard being depressed and trying to start a business and make friends and now to hear this crap....my business has been bad and wonder if this is why....I am not expecting a response but am crying and just needed to get this off my chest. How do you fight evil lives...you can't.

Sometimes I wish people would lie more. Im gonna be kicked out of school because some friends told the headmaster ive had problems with drugs. Which is true. But that doesn't help me. Now everyone at the school knows how messed up I am. Sigh... I hate private school.

People lie about others to make themselves feel better. They usually have low confidence themselves, just do your best to ignore them,however hard that may be. :hug:
