Back and other pains

#42
Just updating about the mass in my forearm. I saw the surgeon end of September. First he looked at my arm and said that's definitely a liposarcoma. I asked if it could be a lipoma. He said no. Then I told him my doctor saw it when it was small and he said it looked like muscle. The surgeon said let me look at your ultrasounds again. He came back with saying it's an intramuscular lipoma. At least he ordered an mri. Weeks later he sent results to my family doctor. Whoever read the MRI reported it's an intramuscular lipoma.

Then I saw him a few days ago hoping he'll remove it. I waited 45 minutes for him to spend maximum of 15 seconds to give me a paper and said my family doctor has to refer me to a plastic surgeon. I asked why, he just said because it's in between muscles he can't do it and he walked out before I could say it's pinching nerves and causing pain.

I could have stayed home, he could have sent it to my doctor.. but then I guess he wouldn't get paid for "seeing me". He didn't look at me, nothing just ran in and out. ,😠I hate our slow healthcare. And not all plastic surgery is covered by OHIP. If it wasn't growing and causing pain I'd leave it
It's bigger than a golf ball now. Surgeon said before that lipomas don't grow fast. Well it did so I'm still unsure it's a correct diagnosis. It must be. I've read there's a 30 percent chance it's a misdiagnosis by whoever read the mri. At this point I hate my life so much I hope it's cancer.

That’s quite frustrating! A huge waste of your time. A plastic surgeon is the preferred choice for a delicate intra muscular surgery. If you are in the US, it’s unlikely you’d be declined coverage. This is a medical necessity — Because the area is painful & growing. I hope you can get it resolved quickly.
PS- I hope it’s not sarcoma.

I feel like I'm wasting this space as there are others with more serious issues. I'm exhausted all the time and my place is a wreck. It's taken all this time to finally get a consultation with a plastic surgeon on Thursday. At least I know it's a consultation not a surgery yet. He has some very bad reviews so I'm nervous but I guess every sort of doctor gets bad reviews eventually.

The lump doesn't seem to have grown. I'm not worried. I might ask if it can just be left there as lipomas aren't dangerous yet but I'd like them to at least get a bit of the lump examined to see for sure it's not cancer. The rest of my body, back etc hurts more. The other darn doc came back to my doctor office and changed my pain meds to much less. I hate her. At least I was getting some relief. My doctor when he got around to it left my dose as is. Makes me want to not do a dang thing because I'm sore yet it's my fault for not doing enough walking and I've spent my days laying in bed depressed. End of dumb vent.

It feels like my sacroiliac joints just got torn or I mean muscle there. Just from driving to see the plastic surgeon for the lump. I'm so confused. I was told he's the one needed to take it out. But his explanation is what I thought of myself. I could end up with a useless hand if it's taken out because of where it is between muscles. I'm stubborn, I asked nicely if I can get a biopsy. I told him everything I read on Google about it and it can't be ruled out that it's cancer unless a biopsy is done and he said I was right and he understood why. He seems very nice caring plastic surgeon not that I've ever met one before. I don't want to keep wondering what this is for sure. So he's getting me a biopsy set up somewhere.

I have forgotten to update this. I'm typing it out, trying to be short about what happened. The plastic surgeon refused to take this lump out of my arm. He said he could damage nerves if he did it. I pushed for a biopsy. That call I got said it wouldn't be a biopsy. I've been leaving the lump there, because the last place I was supposed to go to said ''it wont be a biopsy, just talk about what next steps to take''

I'm at the end of getting help for it and it is pressing on nerves, I can tell, my arm from the lump down hurts into my hand, aching deeply and I've gone through bottles of advil to manage it, and the lump is sensitive around it too. It is possible to leave the lump, but if it's causing me pain, idk what doctors think I should do about it. I'm going to my own doctor soon to ask how I'm going to deal with this nerve pain.

Thanks to anyone who has supported me in this thread.
