I left a relationship because I wasn’t being treated right. He was very emotionally immature. He didn’t really understand my suicidal behaviour, he wasn’t really there emotionally. I ended up being there for him emotionally and I could understand him. He told me I was the first person to understand him.
He ended up speaking badly about me to his friends, he was being controlled and heavily influenced by two of his friends in particular whom had never met me and both had negative depictions. He was also controlled by his dad a lot, he couldn’t see how his dad affected how he treated me. I had to leave, all of the disrespect and in the end he ended up using people from my past who had hurt me against me. He never met those people he used against me. It was obvious he brought them up to weaponise them and attempt to hurt me emotionally. I don’t regret leaving the relationship but I am heartbroken because I fell in love with who he tried to present himself as. A lot of physical affection but emotional absence. It was confusing. I felt upset that I could understand him but he couldn’t understand me but to be honest, I don’t think he ever understood himself. He agreed with me that his friends were controlling and they are still in his life as far as I know. I know he and them will make me the villain or the problem. I burst his bubble and showed him what the real world was like. He had never been in a relationship or met people outside of that friendship group he had known for years. Even though he was 24. He had little experience. I’ve been in different relationships and had different friendships. It definitely contributed to why we didn’t work out.
