I miss having parents

Yesterday was the 19th anniversary of my dad's death. My mom died in February. They had a bitter divorce and my mom and I didn't have a great relationship. Yesterday was the first anniversary of my dad's death where I didn't have parents at all. I feel like such a little kid in a middle aged body. I'm alone, sad, and scared. Shortly before my dad died he said he never realized how much pain I'd been in and he had always told me things would get better because that's what he truly thought Now it's an additional 19 years and things still haven't gotten better. I know from the recent loss of my mom (and I'm still finalizing some stuff) that going through people's things is very time consuming. I have no one to handle my affairs when I leave. There is no one.

I'm so sorry. It's one of the hardest parts about losing both parents. Not matter what age you are, you feel like an orphan. I lost both of my parents 16 years ago, and there's still many sad moments. Just take the time you need to sort through your feelings. And yes, going through people's things is complex and difficult and emotional. Again, I"m so sorry. Just take it easy when you can.

My heart goes out to you. I'm sorry you lost your dad so young. All I can say is I understand and send you a big hug. And It's definitely a time consuming business closing out someone's life. I did it all when my second parent died 6 years ago. *brohug*console
