What are you up to this weekend? Are you ready for the holidays? πŸŽπŸŽ„I get it if you lay low.
Christmas Shopping, sleeping and spiralling.

Fun Facts πŸ€—πŸ’πŸπŸπŸ

1. Goosebumps are meant to ward off predators.

2. Pineapple can work as a meat tenderizer.

3. Humans are the only animals that blush.

4. Cotton candy was invented by a dentist. (1897, John C. Wharton)

5. Superman didn't always fly. (In 1940 he started).

6. Space smells like seared steak. πŸ₯©πŸ₯©πŸ₯©πŸ₯©
1) It is a hold-over from when we were hairier, goosebumps raise the hairs, and when we had more (im talking about prehistoric times when our ancestors had fur) this would help with insulation (if we were cold) and perhaps make us look a little beefier to a predator if all our body suddenly expanded a tiny bit, though that 2nd part is supposition.

2) I think this is because it is very acidic, it tends to break things down, including meat.

3) Some birds have also been known to blush, parrots especially.

4) huh... best marketing ploy ever.
"Tasty huh kids... oh wait, now your teeth are rotting, if only you know someone you could pay to help...."

5) His costume was also originally based on the circus Strongman, hence the underwear outside and why his costume is skin tight, in fact, back in 1933, he was first written as a villain test subject of a mad scientist.

6) This is probably radiation lightly searing their space suits and cooking off any biological resedue and sweat from when the suits were last handled, based on the fact it has also been likened to welding fumes or hot metal.

1) Do the challenges you've faced make you a better or worse person? Why?
They have made me a better person, as in a kinder heart, but also less capable by far. I am far weaker than I was before my "challenges", and weakness and pain are the parents of empathy.

2) what do you wish people would stop asking you?
I wish workmates would stop asking me personal questions, like my boss asking what I plan to do with my holiday every time I try to book one, or Jack asking if I got drunk and laid over the weekend every damned weekend because he is that kind of person who thinks youth is to be spent on sex and intoxication only.

3) what do you like or not like about your country/state/neighborhood where you live?
I dont like how London is a cesspit of the worst of the country, the most wreckless drivers, the most selfish landlords, the most scheming businessmen, the most dishonest lenders, the most hardened criminals, the highest house prices BY AN ORDER OF MAGNITUDE! (10 years wages to buy a 1 bedroom flat leasehold) and somehow also the only place you can get a damned job! Everything else I dont like about my country holds true across the world (Im afraid im not in a "like" mood today)

4)what's your favorite holiday, if you had to choose?
Christmas, it has the longest break for companies, the most presents, the most frivolity, and has a secular and religious version, its got something for everyone.

5) What's the most immature thing you remember your parent(s) doing?
My Dad and sister (in one of their few friendly interactions) had an escalating competition of pranks, one year my sister came home from abroad (school trip) and my dad had used fluff, string and a BUTTLOAD of plastic spiders to turn her entire bedroom into a cobweb, and im not talking about surfaces, im talking a solid thing, the whole volume of her room, and somehow my mum got into the mood (she usually found this kind of thing just stressful to be around, but this time enjoyed it) and when my sister opened the door to find THAT, my mum actually pushed her in.

Thanks for the tag @Lane :)

I have absolutely sod all planned for the weekend so probably just the usual battle for the heating control with my husband and watching shite on TV. There may be wine involved so it's not all bad.

Do the challenges you've faced make you a better or worse person? Why?
I think they've made me more understanding of other people's struggles and more likely to get off my arse and try to help.
But it's taken away the little confidence I had in myself and my abilities.

what do you wish people would stop asking you?
Asking me to cook them lunch or dinner. It's constant. Am I the only person in this house who is capable of using the cooker?

what do you like or not like about your country/state/neighborhood where you live
At the moment there are more things that I hate about the UK than like about it.
In my area specifically I hate that it's full of affluent old people who all seem to sit on the local council and vote down anything that might possibly help young people and families. Stuffy, miserable, selfish old codgers.

what's your favorite holiday, if you had to choose?
I'm not really into holidays, too much pressure to make things perfect and too much forced jollity. I do however like the type of holiday that involves lying on a beach under a scorching hot sun with a cocktail in my hand.

What's the most immature thing you remember your parent(s) doing
My mother cutting all my hair off when I was 11 for being late home from school.
Or when she and her friend got steaming drunk when both our families met for a pub lunch one Sunday (I was probably around 13) and every time a male customer walked past our table they jumped up and sandwiched him inbetween them.

1) Do the challenges you've faced make you a better or worse person? I mean..I hope so. Honestly doesn't feel like it.

2) what do you wish people would stop asking you? What do you do? (Job) oh I work at a call center ma'am.

3) what do you like or not like about your country/state/neighborhood where you live?
I like my neighborhood, and my state is nice. Don't like my country.

4)what's your favorite holiday, if you had to choose? Valentines day. Its cute and there's sweets involved. Even if you're single. I'm a big romantic at heart.

5) What's the most immature thing you remember your parent(s) doing?
-Mom gambling, doing drugs, and pretty much everything she does tbh.
- my dad trusting a lot of people who used him.

The pranks between my dad and sister are some amazing stories, to this day the curtains and front door in my dad's house jungle when used because little bells have been either attached or sewed into them.

I got in on the action once regarding the Easter hallucinations prank, for maybe 15 years the whole family has pretended they cant see the little Easter chickens my dad puts around the place and that my sister is hallucinating, a couple of years ago my dad was going to be away and my sister visiting his house so he asked me to set up some chickens and gave me a pack of 16, I went and bought about 60 packs of 36 little ones, some party poppers, and a LOT of cocktail sticks and called my brother for help, me, my brother and sister set up all 1000+ chickens in my dad's bedroom, on every surface, climbing up string ropes to get to this shelves, and an ARMY divided into ranks with cocktail stick spears and party-popper mounted cannons in the middle of his bedroom floor, and 1 division holding HIS 16 chickens at cocktail-stick-spearpoint. It was fucking epic and unless he wanted to abandon a joke that had been going for 15 years, he had to pretend he didnt see them and explain WHY he was avoiding stepping on "nothing". We even filled up his car, and some of the chickens, in his room, and car are still there years later.

Oh, I almost forgot, my brother made a working cocktail stick trebuchet as well, cant forget that :P

Yikes @Lane i feel a bit like the squirel! but just not on time. so sorry i’m late. had a busy day. had to get the car serviced and that took 2+ hours longer than expected. then when i got home i think my brain was more or less off until i realized i needed a nap which i took only to wake up and engage in the collective disagreements on what would be for dinner and then the discount coupon expired 2 minutes before we tried to order. bleep. so we had to dispute again and settled on chinese which i went out in the rain to get. then after dinner and a pomegranate and cnn’s depressing β€œbreaking news” (as if that makes it important), i needed another nap - all night. so ooooo ooo, i will take a look at what you’ve prepared here in this lovely cafΓ© now and then go next door to @Champagne ’s cafΓ© and see if i can be a tad less tardy. you guys keep me running!! jk (i run for no one/nothing) πŸ₯΄

What are you up to this weekend? its therapy day 😁πŸ€ͺ😱 and it looks kind of gloomy outside so i’ll probably have to stay inside and talk to my therapist (on the phone) where others can hear me. but to take care of the clouds and raindrops, here’s something else...🌞🌞🌞

Are you ready for the holidays? πŸŽπŸŽ„I get it if you lay low.
laying low sounds like a great idea Lane. I’m certainly not ready.πŸ›Έ

1. Goosebumps are meant to ward off predators.
ah, so that’s why no one ever chases after mee....

2. Pineapple can work as a meat tenderizer.
hmm, pineapple on me.

3. Humans are the only animals that blush.
see πŸ‘½it doesn’t ever ever happen to me - not one tiny bit

4. Cotton candy was invented by a dentist. (1897, John C. Wharton)
and this is probably why dentistry has been so slow to becoming thought of as β€œmedicine”

5. Superman didn't always fly. (In 1940 he started).
nor did i

6. Space smells like seared steak. πŸ₯©πŸ₯©πŸ₯©πŸ₯©
ok, who smelled it anyway!?!?!

K, how about some questions?
ready ready!

1) Do the challenges you've faced make you a better or worse person? Why?
better for sure! because i’m responding to the inner hidden me who needs freedom and presence and who has been basically embarrassed and afraid to step up and bit by bit i’m taking positive steps forward in ways that i believe benefit me and those close to me and hopefully to others in the world.

2) what do you wish people would stop asking you?
actually i think generally people don’t ask me much at all - except maybe my kids & wife who are always welcome to ask away! as for other people, i often find myself wishing they would ask something....

3) what do you like or not like about your country/state/neighborhood where you live?
country: seems as a group many people do not like to think for themselves. i don’t like that. but it has some pretty beautiful places and beautiful people who do think for themselves and have good ideas. state: the same as for country but also the government seems to be very bureaucratic and kind of cold and mean as i’ve found when needing to contact agencies for necessities i need to apply for .... and neighborhood, its just like a black hole in space, just the middle of nowhere and too far away from everything else even though it s right in the middle of everything.

4)what's your favorite holiday, if you had to choose?
maybe halloween, groundhog day, and or the day daylight saving time ends.

5) What's the most immature thing you remember your parent(s) doing? raising their kids... seen that happen worse with other people i guess, but particularly my father, he had some real growing up to do that he never attempted.

and now for the traditional and always spirit lifting 🌞🌞🌞

hey @Champagne here i come...

Hey all, not up to much this weekend.
I guess I'm ready for the holidays, got all my presents and cards done anyway. Hopefully it will be good, but if it ends up being disappointing (there's definitely only 1 way that could truly happen) then I know I will find a way to survive it. :)

1) Do the challenges you've faced make you a better or worse person? Why?
Very interesting question, and I think the answer for anyone always comes down to the perspective a person chooses to have about their challenges. The most I can really say is I strive every day to have faith and believe that they've made me a better person. The why is because I think that is just a healthier and more constructive use of my time, energy and attention :)

2) what do you wish people would stop asking you?

Same as what foreverforgotten said, what I "do" for work. Ugh! So flipping annoying. If I were a good looking enough person they wouldn't DARE to ask me such a thing, they'd just be so infinitely grateful to be near my greatness and being allowed to have the chance to worship me.

3) what do you like or not like about your country/state/neighborhood where you live?

What I like about my neighborhood is that it's less populated than the area I lived in before (about an hour away from here, driving). I also like being near the mountains, the view we have from our place and...some other things too.
What I like about my country is that it's fairly safe (safer than a lot of other parts of the world anyway) that we have a good healthcare system and even though we often have a LOT less selection in terms of stores and other kinds of exciting things going on, I think that has also made us be a much more peaceful country than it otherwise would be (lots of people judge it as "boring" but that's fine they can go ahead and judge it that way if it helps them feel better about themself)
Rather not say what I don't particularly like about my area or country cos it's just negative and pointless. Also I don't want to taint the collective energy of it in the first place because that never does anyone any good anyway.

4)what's your favorite holiday, if you had to choose?

Halloween cos it's less demanding than Xmas.

5) What's the most immature thing you remember your parent(s) doing?

It wasn't really any one "specific" thing, it was more just the general way they were sometimes if that makes sense.

1) Do the challenges you've faced make you a better or worse person? Why?

Better, but I love to confront, attack and solve issues.

2) what do you wish people would stop asking you?

With the lock down I really don't have that problem which is a good thing by me.

3) what do you like or not like about your country/state/neighborhood where you live?

I am pretty satisfied overall, if I dislike anything it would be the people especially politicians. I can do well enough one on one with a person, but people in general and masses I normally have little use for.

4)what's your favorite holiday, if you had to choose?

Thanksgiving, always a four day weekend and not so commercialized non stop like so many. Just a time to eat, drink and be merry.

5) What's the most immature thing you remember your parent(s) doing?

Can't really remember my mom doing such and my parents divorced when I was five and died just before my ninth birthday so he is a dim memory especially since in 1969 unless the woman was a smack head hooker or such the woman got custody almost every time and visitation was measured in days or weekends in a year instead of a month for the father so I never knew much about my father personally.
