Good morning all!
Today is actually first day back to work for me.
Today we're going bike riding! Or cycling for all you Americans who are scratching your heads in puzzlement, asking, what is 'bike riding'? We're taking a trail through the mountains and the beach.
@walkerbait95 and @Lulabelle will supply us with the alcoholic beverages necessary. @JacsMom and @Polly Anne with the usual ones. @Sunday16 @DrownedFishOnFire @east_coast_mel @Fudgewobble will bring everyone along. @Petal will greet everyone with @nobodyknows71 @Kira75 @Acy @Rockclimbinggirl will bring some bikes for us. The weirder the better. @Acanthi @Kiwi2016 @Melby @Tiago will bring food in baskets @Ash600 and @JDot will be on first aid duty (I mean, we need first aiders who know what they're doing, right? Of course everyone will bring with anything they want too :)
Come say hi @Mercedesgirl @Forever unappreciated @PhoenixLady @Falina @A guy with feelings @Kathie Sunflower
The challenge for today is to exercise for 10 minutes and or share a couple of goals for your day with us here.
Hopefully I'll do the hoop later (if I've time)
And I'll try go to a meeting today after work.
For whoever wants helmets this safe :) I looked but couldn't find any better ones...

of course, if you rather

I think I will pass on the cycling... Maybe I'll go for a walk today though.
My goals are to read a book I've had out from my college library for a long time... It's called The Social Psychology of Music. It's due back soon-- I've renewed it 3 times and am unsure if I can renew it any more. Plus I'm hoping to try out a new place. Was looking into the new Vietnamese cafe, but I can't figure out if they're open since it's Labor Day. Called once and got no answer, but they could've been busy. There's also a Cambodian-Thai place much closer to me that I could get lunch at. I've been meaning to check it out but never have yet. I'll have to see what's open and what works out.
Here's a picture from the Yelp page for the Cambodian-Thai place:

Here's banh mi from the Vietnamese cafe (also from Yelp):

I didn't get to go anywhere interesting. Everywhere was closed so I gave up and went to Dairy Queen.

I never learned how to ride a bike :o but thank you for the invite :)
Exercise, what is that? No, I mean I walk a mile and a half a day to work, but not today since it is Labor Day.
I am going shopping later, hopefully I can spend time with my nephew too.

*comes violently crashing into the cafe while riding a bike, slamming into series of chairs, tables, and random waiters, and ends up flying off and landing directly into the ice swan* *slowly gets up and limps over to the main table, covered in bruises and cuts*

Well, Miss @Innocent Forever, you know me very well, soon as I read the topic I told myself I was gonna fly in, and you mentioned it! ;)

There you guys are. They ran out of helmets at the local store, so I had to use a banana peel as a substitute. Soon as I got near the cafe, the peel slipped off and landed right in front of the bike, causing this unintentional mass destruction. (Fun fact: I'm an accident prone person in real life so I get hurt a lot - I even almost accidentally killed myself in a gas filled kitchen when I was looking for matches when I was 17).

Helmets... bikes. Yeah - we don't mix very well - I got my first bike when I was 5. Same day I got it, I went down a steep parking ramp and ended up flying off like a rocket and smashed my entire face and right side of my body against cemented concrete. Nope, I wasn't wearing a helmet. You don't wanna know how bloody I looked afterwards.

This reminds me of the time I tried to ride a skateboard when I was 21. I was asked if I wanted to put a helmet on. I refused, telling them "real skaters don't use helmets". I pushed off for only a half foot and the next thing I knew, I found myself tumbling backwards and landing head first right onto the concrete. Nearly blacked out and my head was hurting like hell, but I survived (like I survived all my other mass injuries and accidental suicides). Will I ever skateboard again? Probably not. Will I ever smash my head against a hard surface in the future? All signs point to hell yes!

HERE'S A RANDOM IRON MAN HELMET FOR THE HELL OF IT:

Don't like Marvel Comics? You want DC Comics instead?! WELL, HERE'S A BATMAN MOTORBIKE FOR THE HELL OF IT!

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to the emergency ward so they can stitch up this gaping bloody gash on the side of my head. Before they label me as brain damaged or autistic or something... oh wait...
