Oh yes they become the Beetlejuice -- swiveling heads and lashing claws... then afterwards serious distasteful looks towards their human

How did I manage to miss this cafe...so sorry so late all. @Innocent Forever what a wonderful topic!

This week I was reminded of Ralph Waldo Emerson's quote - "Life is a journey, not a destination. "

This inspires hope for me as it is the fellow travelers, experiences, and moments that can make life full (if paying attention) -- it is so easy to get fixated on our perceived destinations whatever they may be that we lose sight of the present moment, the present journey that we are on --- Not sure if that makes any sense...

Though clearly very very late for tagging....@bergerac @mpk @Angel368 @Shadowlands @Aj q8

It can be a struggle at times to take care of ourselves…. Physically, emotionally…… I do t always act ā€œright, or do ā€œrightā€. I don’t always treat myself and others around me with kindness.
I have felt more blessings and shown kindness and compassion in animals and nature around me than I could even imagine I could ever feel.
Trying to look at a situation from another point of view even in the worst of times when you can’t see anything but negative darkness can slowly start changing the way you act and react towards life and obstacles you go through.
Someone I knew in passing adopted a small pup from a shelter and a few weeks later realized she could not give attention he needed. I offered to foster the pup. My mom passed less than a month later. I barely got out of bed the following few months and made my bed my home. This pup,who barely knew me….. who was a very active pup would stay with me in my bed didn’t matter how long… long enough to where I started worrying more about the pup and basic needs of potty and food. I could care less about me but I started caring !
Caring about the needs of this pup.
Never would leave my side unless I got up.
Having these worry and emotions about another when I could give a crap about myself made me realize I still did have a will to live and as well had longing for another’s well being. Didn’t see it at the time but I was actually finding a purpose. This purpose was caring for another but at same time I had to start treating myself right so I could help another.
These little miracles come in so many shapes and forms and to each individual it is unique for them. We don’t always know at the time the actions we choose … even in small little steps that seem like nothing is changing… the wheels are in motion and it’s setting us up for a smoother ride to finding that hope yet again. Just because you can’t feel it or see it at the moment doesn’t mean your in the same dark place as you were the day before. You might not understand why I posted this, but I used to think everything in the world was shit, and someone pointed out to me how wonderful dragonflies were. No matter how much you may hate yourself your eyeball is amazing, that's nature for you. Beautiful but cruel, wonderful and harsh, a world full of opposites, so although I knew the world was shit, I realised it was also wonderful.

Yes, I agree 100%. That is, the universe is made up of Opposites. Just as we have day and night, we have heaven and hell. But heaven and hell are not separate places. Instead they co-exist at the same time. They are intertwined. It's a fact because we see it all around us. Once we accept and tolerate the pain, then we can appreciate the joy.

And just read this excerpt from Sea Survival: A Manual

I have no words to offer which may comfort the reader who is also a castaway, except that rescue may come at any time but not necessarily when you expect it; and that even if you give up hope, you must never give up trying, for, as the result of your efforts, hope may well return and with justification.

Those are wonderfully cute mutts. :) And always keep in mind when dogs are smiling at you to never listen to negativity directed at you from mere humans. Animals are better judges of character.

thanks KM, i didn't even see this until now! and so ironic when i share @Innocent Forever 's feelings (i think). and things do unfortunatley seem "hopeless" to me anyway. but if i can summon up any hope, here it is.... šŸŒžā¤ļø. thanks again and wishing everyone the best...

oh yes, here's something else ... i recommend ryazhenka. this is one brand but i'm sure there are others. its great stuff....

I've just started taking probiotics. You can get them in different forms, kefir, like you mentioned, also a probiotic called filmjok, though it's often just sold as "probiotic".

Aside from these dairy-based probiotics, you can also get probiotics in pill form.

I've read that there's evidence that they can help with a lot of different health conditions. I'm not sure they're necessarily right for everyone, but in might be a good idea to look into them.

You can also grow your own dairy-based probiotics very easily.
