I've been really struggling with anxiety the last few months. It's got to the point that I'm having daily panic attacks and constantly feel on edge and like my heart is racing.

I had a telephone appointment with my psychiatrist on Friday and she's prescribed me Lyrica although I haven't started taking it yet. To be honest, it looks kind of scary and just the thought of it is causing more anxiety.

I'm already worrying about how hard it will be to come off of when the time is right - I've had awful experiences coming off of antidepressants before. And I've managed to lose 38lbs since last summer - am I going to put it all back on again?

Has anyone used this for anxiety before? Did it help? What were your experiences with it?

I haven’t taken Lyrica but I was on Neurontin (Gabapentin) for a while. They are in the same drug class. I found it helpful, I was calmer. The only side effect I had was less feeling on my skin, especially in my feet. But it was managable. I think it’s definitely worth a try. I hope it helps you.
