I am not sure how to feel right now because I just found out that my ex passed away last Friday. I hated him in many ways but I still feel really sad right now and am crying about it.

I think death is always so sad. I hoped my divorcing him and cutting him off from my life would help him change his drinking habits that he would have to start taking responsibility. I don’t think he ever would now the drinking has taken his life. I feel it’s hard to know how to feel other than sad

I'm truly sorry to hear of this news for you... My heart aches--& brakes, for you! I think this is one of the saddest stories I've read in a very long time.

Sending you well wishes, and hopefully some speedy relief from the immediacy of the pain you're now surrounded and engulfed in. Hoping that in time - it begins to subside.

And for the record, I've never known how to help someone who is in the absolute throes of the worst of it, with the bottle. Really just thinking the best and most positive thoughts, for you & your future. . . Take care!

Regardless of your relationship with him, what you're feeling is completely natural *sadhug
Just please be kind to yourself and don't suppress your feelings regardless of how confusing they are.
You're a wonderful lady, Sassy *hug10 *console *brohug *hug 💕💕💕🐈🐈🐈oxox

Grieving is the most natural thing in the world. It is also one of the hardest. But you will get through it. Frankly, I would be more worried about you if you didn't grieve. This man was your husband once. You love each other and committed your lives to each. A divorce cannot take that away. I am so sorry about your loss and that he could not beat the alcohol addiction, but very few succeed in that.
