Are you currently in a domestic violence situation? In my experience, people who are in DV relationships get better faster than anyone else if they're able to leave the DV relationship, it's just that leaving is often very difficult.

Cats are fine pets, have a fuzzball here who believes she is queen of the house, she mostly is. LOL. I have never had a tortoise but the tank in the yard(stock tank) is often full of turtles that often sun up on the bank.
