"Does this sound like a mid-life crisis? That I am too young for. But this is a perpetual mid life crisis. I have to constantly assess and adjust my views on life, on my strength, on what it means to be a human being because I live with an illness that constantly tears at me and I have to maneuver through that somehow with my mind, my heart and my soul intact. So if I seem like a different person from day to day, it is because I am."

-- I am curious if anyone else with chronic pain and/or a physical illness experiences what I described above?

I'm fortunate enought to never have had to deal with long term chronic pain, but what you say ceartainly sounds like a method of dealing with what you need to each day rather than a midlife crisis. For mine a mid life crisis is more along the lines of trying to recapture a lost youth, where as your just dealing with your day to day tribulations.
