That is seriously an outrage in my opinion!! They should have checked if the weapon was real or not from the beginning..and to just shoot him? HELLO..maybe people wont agree with me..but cops are just disgusting. i feel so sorry for the family and friends of this boy..and just to sum it up by saying..oh it was a misunderstanding..no that doesnt work for me at all.

Ok, so why not go to a school, and check some unstable kid to make sure that the gun he is carrying isn't real. Honestly, would you do that?

SWAT shot him because they DIDN'T know if the gun was real or not! If you had see on the news "Boy of 15 shoots and Kills 5 people, 6 others wounded" you would have said this was another Colombine, and that Police arent doing enough to stop this kind of thing.

So before you go critisizing the boys in blue, think to yourself, If you saw somone unstable with a gun, would you SERIOUSLY go and check it, and risk getting shot?

ok so i see your point...but i cant help but feel a little angery at the fact that they shot a 15 year old...and off topic I HATE COPS!!!!!!

What level of force an officer uses is of course, discretionary but the choice
is not limited to the use of firearms. Tasers, which in spite of being catergorized as non-lethal, still sometimes kill, are an option. Beans bag rounds fired from a 12. guauge shotgun will not soon be forgotten if someone is hit with one.

Hindsight is 20-20 and I didn't see what the cop saw, all I am saying is that officers are not restricted to using only their firearms. This officer is
already under a magnifying glass, I assure you, and is probably facing a civil lawsuit from the boy's survivors. I wouldn't want to be a cop.

This is one of those cases where it must've been difficult for everyone involved. It's unfortunate that the kid died, but I think that it was in the interest of the safety of everyone around him that it was done.

Still, I wonder if they could've hit him in a non-fatal place.

They are trained to shoot for the kill.. Would you rather shoot a kid in the leg and risk getting shot in the face?
