Anyone get hallucinations?

I don't want advice, I just want to talk about them and hear from others with similar issues.

Had some yesterday after I was triggered into a panic attack. First time in a long time that's happened. Was seeing shit for a few hours or so, and then this morning after I woke up, nothing.

Mine always seem to be living beings of one sort or another, and they're often in distress. Sometimes I can identify what they are (some kind of animal, usually not humans), but sometimes the creatures I can hear and see aren't even physically plausible; as in, if they were real, they would die due to various bodily deficiencies (such as being bisected, or having no clear way of breathing, etc.).

Anyway... anyone else who has hallucinations here? If so, what sort do you experience?

Honestly? No. Are you diagnosed schizophrenic?

I know right? My sentiments exactly. Hah. But yes, apparently hallucinations can have quite a few different causes. Regardless, thanks for caring.
I always find thing like that to be thought worthy. So, do they happen often or only when you are in extreme anxiety?

They really don't happen often at all, and it's only when I'm extremely anxious.

I was on a drug to control it when they were happening frequently... but I long since got taken off of it by my psychiatrist because I wasn't experiencing them anymore. Yesterday was the first episode of it I've had in about a year and a half or so. If it continues then I will ask to put back on the drug I know works to control them. (Hence the no advice thing, as I already know what to do if it starts getting bad.)

The panic attacks are worse than their side effect of hallucinating, tbh.

I've had visual and auditory hallucinations now and again - always when I'm in a really bad way.

Visual hallucinations seem to mainly be centred around people's faces, their features are in the wrong places like their face has been jumbled up. Sometimes there are some sort of bugs all over the floor, all running around.

My auditory hallucinations are more common. It's generally a man's voice (sometimes a little girl), telling me to do horrible things to myself.

At first it was really frightening as it seemed so real. But now I've mostly learned to ignore it (although it affects my concentration for the duration). My psychiatrist has often tried to persuade me to take antipsychotics but I don't feel it's too much of a problem at the moment.

Hey, thanks for sharing! It's a topic that can often make people uncomfortable, so I think shedding more light on the subject is important.

I'm finding it interesting that yours seem to be likewise triggered by emotional distress. Something in our brains becoming over-reactive, perhaps...

The "creatures all over the floor" type is bad. Makes you want to not walk across it, right? My worst one ever was seeing a bunch of laundry scattered across the floor in my ex's place as a bunch of cats writhing in pain.

Mine are more often visual than auditory. Sorry to hear how mean your voices are. They need to learn some manners. (Sorry, bad attempt at humour.)

I'm glad that they're not causing you as much distress now as they first were. You're right in that after a while you can start to recognize it for what it is and try to adapt to it. No shame in meds if you decide to give them a shot, though I do understand not finding the problem bad enough to warrant that route.

Sounds like pseudo hallucinations if it's after an anxiety attack and you know that they are happening and that it's not real.

I hear voices though they are under control now but I used to do what they said and believed them to be real and I was delusional.

I hadn't heard the term pseudohallucinations before but yeah, after looking it up, that's exactly what it is for me. Thanks for teaching me a more accurate description to use.
