Hello, My son is 4 years old and he is currently going through a battery of tests as the doctors think he may be high functioning autistic. His speech is definitely behind, hes not the most social of kids but he is developing and most importantly, he is happy.
The consultants are currently putting together an EHCP for him with a multi-agency meeting later in the year to decide whether he is autistic.
What i am wondering is if anyone else on here has either been through the process or has a child who has gone through the process.
Im wondering what to expect and possibly a time frame as the doctors cant seem to tell me how long it will take to get a diagnosis.
He is due to start school this september, i am hesitant at sending him to a standard school if he is going to be diagnosed within a couple of months, im also worried a standard school could be a bad experience for him, i would rather send him direct to the specialist school we have in the area which is outstanding.

So what are peoples experiences with this?

Thanks
