Hey there
@Pebble mouse . Yeah, beta blockers are pretty handy for managing the physical symptoms of anxiety. Not sure where in the world you are based, but in the UK propranolol has been an established and licensed med for the relief of situational and generalised anxiety. Normally it's 40mg once a day though that can be upped to 40mg three times a day if need be.
Though I've never taken it myself, I've known many who have including couple of friends way back during Uni days who were given a 40mg dose literally just before sitting exams. There can be side effects yes, commom ones being cold hands/feet, sleep disturbances, fatigue and or lassitude. Of course with all meds, some people may and some others may not experience side effects because as you're probably aware, it's a an individual thing.
Whether beta blockers will be suitable for you would naturally depend on your clinical history as just as with other drugs, there can be contraindications for use. Naturally that will be assessed by your healthcare team.
But anyways, if you do get prescribed it, then I do hope that it will be of benefit to you.
