Bit of a crosspost from my personal SF diary, written text on paper heheh, but... My god - so much of the internet is dead -. Mentioned that briefly in here too... but I don't want to visit that "Dead Internet Theory" rabbit hole too much. *hiding

Discussions online, like Reddit, Discord too... Is this really the foundation of what we're building towards? *scared It's just getting worse over time, somehow. Is there any progression to be made?

Before writing I briefly read a news article on people on welfare in the Netherlands and it had a comment section ~ ... I know, won't be making this mistake again. It was so awful, just how do people do those "drive-by shit posts" anyway?
Is that their daily quota for the dopamine they require?

Felt better after writing and sharing this at least.

I love this community at least! =) It changed my life and it affected my behaviour in all the positive ways!
*thumbsup

i agree. i still love forums like this one because it seems like healthier communication.
i commented a youtube video and it seemed like someone was purposely disagreeing with me ? or something? and there are lots of things tha tmake me uncomfortable online now.
Thank you, Luth! *thumbsup
And yea, especially on the bigger platforms (like Youtube) - it could feel like people who make negative comments want to stand out a bit too much or apply some sort of control of a situation. There's no consequence to any of it... or IRL implications - nor is it needed, most people have a way of (self) justifying why they type in something.

So much communication online has felt like this since I started browsing at a young age. Then again, world's kinda fucked up - people tend to be too, given their environment - the things we have to filter/ignore/avoid just to find that one event/moment/thing. It can be too much, I saw my filter break earlier today. *halo

I suppose it's about finding communities and building it from there ~ I kinda feel weird about how temporary everything is at times and yet so consistent.

I agree with that. It is healthier, people here are anonymous but you get a feel from interacting with the person and can identify much that may be the same for yourself. You learn each other as a person on the forum and not just some random name.
