Another thing to consider is free in-person support in your area. I don't know Canada, but Google "peer-to-peer support mental" or similar terms. There is also a 12-step group, Emotions Anonymous. Google its name to find locations.
Peer support does not replace seeing a doctor and getting professional therapy, if needed. Online is even more limited, because no one knows you or or your situation. You probably should call your regular doctor as a first step, and tell him about your moods.
