Do you believe in soul mates?

#23
Hmm... Soul mates?

That's a REEALLL big stretch for me since... well the world is a big place. xD I mean, personally, I think that finding that one person you're destined to be with for the rest of your life, the person who completes your mind, body and soul is a task to be trifled with.

But do I believe in it? By a certain degree, yes - I do believe in them. I just wish that they have a collar with me on it. xD

No. People with certain shared (and differed!) personality traits can just mix perfectly and click really well. There are probably thousands, even millions that can fit the bill with one person

Yes, i believe in soul mates, because i found mine. We dated for a year and it was quite frankly the best year of my life. Only time in my life that I could say that i've ever been happy. Too bad i'm such an idiot and I let her get away. She's married with a kid now and i'm stuck here probably destained to be alone for the rest of my life.

i used to. i dont know what i believe anymore. i think that we can be happy with many different ppl in life. but do you guys think there is one we are meant to be with?
meh. i suppose i belive in love. someday someone might see me differently, and not as just another random person passing by. Guess im just feeling extra lonley right now. Ive got a full week of partys and going out and the like but to share it with someone or have somone to cuddle at night. those are the things that kill me right now. i guess we all want and need to be loved in the end. or maybe really we are all alone.
I used to believe in soulmates as someone that is our mirror image to find and to love. I found a girl on an internet site that was a carbon copy of me. You know what? We chatted, and after the stunned feeling was over, I felt REPULSION. Suprised the hell out of me. I was glad we didn't hit it off. Opposites attract, they really do.

I'm not sure if my theory is correct, but I think that relationships are there as a mirror of ourselves. For instance we may be attracted to things that we wish we were, or something like that. I'm no freakin expert that's for sure, just a man trying to figure it all out, day by day.

There's 6.5 billion people on the planet, I have a hard time believing that I'm made to "be with one particular person forever." And even if I was, the odds of me meeting here are practically zilch. So no.

I'm sorry to hear that your soul mate got away. I think that I may have found mine. She is so nice to me and really care about her. We're just friends right now, but things looks promising. God I only hope I don't screw things up. I believe that there are people on earth who we will be naturally more compatible with than others. Maybe soul friends?

No soulmates. Just people who have a couple common interests and an attraction to each other. Take one or the other away and you're back to searching. People change.

I would have to say I do. I am not one to take chances or open up (this is my first time at posting) and allow someone to love me, but I did find someone, who despite what I did to try to destroy it, stuck by me. I think that it's really amazing to have someone that loves you when you are feeling whole, but also loves you when you feel broken. He loves me, even when I don't. I was lucky to find him, lucky to have him and lucky that even if he doesn't really "get it", that he wants to.

Sorry, soul mates don't exist.

Edit: There are currently 6.7 billion people in the world. Excluding all of those who are the wrong gender, age, orientation and nationality alone narrows the field quite a bit. Then, you need to locate this person who is "somewhere" in the 150 million km² of land on earth. That's assuming they're even still alive. A couple hundred billion people have already died; what if your soul mate lived at another time in history, or hasn't been born yet? Do you really think it's possible to overcome those odds?

Stop focusing on a "perfect match" or else you'll risk staying single forever. If you only find someone who is a "good" match, you should consider yourself lucky. Many people never even accomplish THAT much.

Absolutely. I believe that we're all meant for someone. Maybe even more than one someone. You know, kind of like a spare tire. That sounds kind of bad, but whatever.

I believe that some people are more meant to be together than others. I also believe in a "love of your life", who may or may not love you back as much as you love them. They are simply be a person whom you love more than you could ever love anybody else. I think if two such people fall in love with each other equally, then you can call them "soul mates" but I think that is rare.

yes... i do believe in soul mates.. but perhaps in a different light

i shouldn't share my views but here goes, bash me for it if you wish guys... just what i believe...

what popular mainstreaming thinking tells us is that a "soulmate" is that ONE perfect person for us, the other half of ourselves, the divine mate...

okay, well what ive learned studying books, websites, experiences of others, and a connection i have to another, it is not the "soulmate" that most people are searching for but something else known as a "twin flame/twin soul" what ive read is that while we have more than one "soulmate" and a soulmate is an individual we are supposedly connected to that comes into our life to be a "help mate" or "companion", we have only ONE "twin flame/twin soul"..

we can technically have dozens of soulmates if it floats our spiritual boat, and a soulmate can be anyone, your father, mother, brother, sister, cousin, partner, friend etc. a soulmate is simply someone we have a deep spiritual connection to who often comes into our life when we need them, helps us on a personal leval and either remains in our life as a part of it or moves on when they are no longer needed..

a twin soul is supposedly far more complex and there is only ONE twin for each of us, like yin/yang, this person is a completion of our soul, as the sites and books have said in the beginning there was a single soul that the divine split into two halves, one half male, one half female.. yin/yang.. those souls were sent into the world with a mission to find and reunite with one another to remember the divine union they experienced in their former completion..

Now im going to tell you what else ive read and heard regarding these blissful sounding connections between souls... apparently reality is a bit different than fiction folks  anyone that thinks a twin flame relationship is ALL stars in ones eyes, blissful kissy kissy sucking the lips of eachother in some magical embrace, happily ever after dream, well you might be mistaken.. ive heard and read that yes twin flame couples DO experience bliss and stars in their eyes in fact ive even heard that the attraction can be so powerful some couples hurt themselves in ah.. their..physical enthusiasm.. there i said that delicately..

there is another side to twin flames that it would be nice if we got educated before we sign up for the connection... along with the bliss comes the real reasons twin souls are together.. soul leval change, growth, healing and to learn the real meaning of unconditional love and acceptance.. that is accomplished much like the effect of an earthquake, landslide, or atomic bomb blast.. it shatters and rebuilds us, tests us to the very limits and beyond.. twin flame connections are not by any means an easy relationship..on the contrary it is the MOST challenging relationship one can enter into.. the twin is our mirror, what we love about ourself we love about them, what we hate about ourself so to do we in our twin.. like a mirror they force us to examine the very deepest levals our ourself... that is how change and growth is accomplished if we dont face the things we dislike we can not turn them into things we DO like... or so the experts say... the other gift aside from helping us see the areas we need change is that a twin soul also on the other polarity helps us balance ourselves through the connection with them.. in other words the areas where we are lacking they will bring balance to.. if for example, one is overly aggressive, the other by polarity would bring gentleness to the relationship..

now im not claiming that what i have read is scientific fact so please dont bash me for expressing what ive read and heard about from various sources.. i am not making a claim that it is true, that it exists or that it is any specific way just sharing what sources have said... my personal beliefs are my personal beliefs and do not have to be yours... thats the great beauty in individuality.. and free will...

Interesting and thoughtful stuff, not sure if I agree with everything but I think I get the gist.

twin flame connections are not by any means an easy relationship..on the contrary it is the MOST challenging relationship one can enter into.. the twin is our mirror, what we love about ourself we love about them, what we hate about ourself so to do we in our twin.. like
Me late Missus was my soul mate, I loved her not only in spite of all her faults but because of them. It was part of what made her unique (a much over used word, but in her case quite accurate - also known as being a royal PITA ). And we did share some of these faults. But had plenty of our own  We finally worked out we were kinda stuck with each other, whether we wanted to or not.....and it weren't an easy ride - kinda like a moth to a flame. for both of us........ and we also both knew we would not be sitting in our rocking chairs together aged 80......but we had to see the ride out to conclusion. and she did. I am still waiting.

I've heard of the twin-flame theory too. I think I may have found my soulmate or twin-flame, but I'm not going to jinx it.
