Is there a way that I can lighten my skin without being too harmful??? I am quite light skinned but I didn't use sunhat this summer and I got a bit tanned. I like the skin tone to have a contrast with my dark hair.

I use a glycolic peel for chemical exfoliation with 4% AHA and a microfibre cloth for gentle physical exfoliation. Salycilic acid turns my skin bright red and burns so I think I'm allergic.

I'm allergic to salicylic acid so just to say if you are - always read the labels on cosmetics, it's in so many things even shampoos. You will need to avoid aspirin too and if it's really bad avoid dried foods like dried fruits, herbs and spices. Berry fruits like raspberries are very high. There's not a lot of info online but it's worth checking out for a list of things that are high in salicylates. It's a strange allergy, it's more of a build-up in your body (with food) but cosmetics can be really bad for you. Things like tonics usually have it but peels, things with AHA's are really potent.

I haven't bought many things this year but this was the last thing I bought. It's very light but not a summer colour so I reckon I'll get a week's wear out of this if I'm lucky!! We don't get heatwaves here, it's raining quite a lot of the time or just plain overcast. I'd really love to find this jacket in more interesting colour combinations, like lilacs/pink/blue or greens/purples in the mix.

My sons bought me an iPhone for my birthday and since then I've reignited my love of photography so I've been buying and researching things like gimbals and drones! Does that come under shallow stuff? Now I just need to win the lottery...

I went and had a pedicure yesterday, not sure if this counts and bought a bar of soap. I love soaps with good ingredients and intense fragrance. Found a new one with hemp and vetiver.

Hello I went shopping this weekend and OMG, I found a few things that I'm really really happy about. Including an English shop I fell in love with but it's not cheap.

For the Summer holidays : jumpsuits usually don't fit me because I'm short-legged, but this one was really cute. It gets to the middle of my calves, and I wear it with high sandals, so it looks great. It comes from Fatface.

For the Autumn : so I'm down to one pair of jeans that has survived the years and I felt like I should get another one. I've always worn slim jeans, but recently I've found the look of long and larger jeans at the bottom ("bootcut" apparently) with high heels really gorgeous. It also fits the shape of my short legs better. So I got these at Levi's, but mine are even longer so they almost completely hide my heels.

My favourite item though, is this super ultra cute necklace I also found in Fatface. Their bee collection made me as excited as a bee in the shop! I love their cute socks! (but didn't buy any) And I loved the chain of this cute necklace!

In addition to more basic stuff for work I bought a gorgeous teal velvet coat, two pairs of boots, a handbag and a dress.
