I have been on Fluoxetine for over two years now and still having issues with depression. How can one tell if its still working or when its time to try something else?

Hi @TSS. I’m sorry you are still having some issues with depression. Have you talked to your doctor? She or he would have an idea of your baseline from two years ago to compare to how you are doing now, and can ask you questions to see if you need further or different treatment — meds, therapy, skills. I hope you‘ll consider making an appointment soon, so you can feel better sooner rather than later.

Looking for a psychiatrist. Its been hard to find one in network.
A regular medical doctor is usually sufficient to prescribe antidepressants, so a psychiatrist may not be necessary.

Do you feel like you have a condition other than unipolar depression? A psychiatrist would probably be needed to treat more complex issues.

How can one tell if its still working or when its time to try something else?
