(I hope this is a proper place to post this, thank you).
Dearest Snuffy,
I know this is an odd time to be writing to you, wherever you are. But I am thinking about you today. And I feel quite ashamed of myself for how I treated you.
I last had you in my life I guess it was 1997 or so. You were a good cat to me, and I had no right to hit you and throw you out like I did. I know now that what I did was wrong, and I wish I could take back what I did to you.
I shouldn't have hit you, Snuffy, as you were just being a cat and trying to communicate with me the only way you knew how. I wish you were here with me now so I could hold you in my arms and pet you and listen to you purr for me.
But I will never hear you purr again. I will never have you on my lap again. In fact, I don't deserve to have any cats in my life again, after what I did to you. I deserve no one in my life.
I remember the time we were lying in bed together, and you put your paw on my hand, and it was so sweet and meaningful. And I remember when I took you to the vet for a checkup, and you were so scared then thinking I was throwing you away. But I only wanted you to have a checkup and be healthy and well. We had wonderful times together, I think.
And then later on another day when I was angry, I hit you and I threw you out into the cold and snow. Why did I do such a stupid, meaningless, cruel thing to you?
As I say, Snuffy, I wish you were here with me now. I wish you were here to comfort me, and me you. I wish I could hold you in my arms again. And I truly wish that wherever you are, you forgive me, though I don't deserve it. I am so sorry, kitty, truly I am.
I love you.
