Instructions for Life

* Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
* When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
* Follow the three R's:

o Respect for self,
o Respect for others,
o Responsibility for all your actions.

* Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
* Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
* Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
* When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
* Spend some time alone everyday.
* Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.
* Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
* Live a good and honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time.
* A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation of your life.
* In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation, don't bring up the past.
* Share your knowledge. Its a way to achieve immortality.
* Be gentle with the Earth.
* Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
* Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
* Judge your successes by what you had to give up in order to get it.
* Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.

I realized that I had been depressed since childhood. It is a pain in the chest area and feelings of loss of hope. I knew there was something wrong and started reading when I was in my early twenties. I have learned over the years of study and group support, afermations, and therapy that the only thing that works for me is medication.
I have also learned that I need to be responsible for my own mental health because I know that no one can really help me
One thing I lost is the ability to cry, My father scared the cry out of me when i was young. Of course I inherited my depression from him. I think he was bipolar. He commited suicide when he was 60 yrs. That story for another day.
Anyway I feel much better now and what got me going for help was suicide thougts and I did not want my children to experience of their mother leaving them.

My sister is still very angery about our dad.

Exercise, belive it or not ,will help but without therapy and medication one could sink.

Good luck to all

Personally.. I don't think thats a good reason.. You just have to go get tested... Because thousands of people have epilepsy... You just have to have the courage to go get seen.. Imagine if everyone who had epilepsy where depressed?...

Im not trying to mock you.. I know how it must feel... You'd feel better if you did get tested though.. Because if you don't.. Then you don't need to be depressed... But all doctors out there want to do is help you...

Hope my post helped..

Rbren,
You have been presented an important lesson here, learn it well. Life is not fair. Every man, woman, and child on the face of this planet has his or her own burdens to bear and epilepsy may be yours. But rather than going around depressed because of a condition you might have, go to the doctor and find out. Having the correct information about it will ease your mind. If you do have epilepsy, their are medications you can take to control it and you should be under a doctor's care. Don't play games with your life just because you feel sorry for yourself. You are 20 years old? Grow up.

If i go to the Docs, I'll loose all my licenses and job, thanks for the advice, im tryin to deal
i dont know what your job is but if it doesnt involve heavy lifting or driving then i doubt youll lose it for getting help, youre more likely to lose your job if you do nothing and have a fit while at work which causes an accident, if your job does invole those things you may be able to transfer to another department withing the company, as for your licenses youre putting yourself and others at risk by driving and there are other ways to get around, if you dont think you can afford public transport there are ways to get help, for example if you are in the UK you will probably qualify for the mobility section of the disability living allowance (DLA)

I think it may be one of those things where its easy if it isn't you. I know you are right it's just i'm having trouble seeing it and think it's an easy way out I've spent years getting my license to go see my GF who don't wanna know me when i told her, and now im a mobile systems administrator. You guys are providing sage advice and i'm trying to see it from ur side, but all i can think is dont deal just do it.

Thanks everyone
