My grandfather passed away last year and things have been unraveling since. I spent this past year getting close and getting to know my grandma. I learned that my grandparents moved away because my parents would never let me be with them. As I got older my parents have made me look like a complete piece of garbage to my grandparents. They were told that I'm a drug addict and that I go to bars every night and get into fights, oh I also spend all my money on my friends. My parents told me when i moved out that my grandparents didnt want anything to do with me because they felt i should have lived in my abusive home until i got married (not true). Grandma has learned this year the real me and that none of that was true. She was very hurt about all of this. She decided she wanted to leave me her home and everything inside it. I went to Arkansas and spent 4 days with her while she passed in hospice. None of my family came none of her friends showed up. During my stay there the executor called me and informed me that grandma didn't have time to change the trust and since there was nothing in writing about the home and things inside my dad will have total control. I dont forsee him letting me have anything. The executor is fighting for me and will make my dad sign a family agreement. The trust is going to be read tomorrow and I know my family is going to be so mad. Thier already sending me messages like "thanks for screwing us" and "wanna explain why you did this to us". I blocked my parents on the way back from Arkansas. I was so mad that they didn't come. They wanted to come to get grandma's car before she even passed when they learned that's not how it works they didn't come. The hole 4 days I was there my parents were more concerned about my grandma's money and things. When she passed at 5am my parents didn't even answer the phone for me. I didn't sleep or eat the 4 days I was going threw this but thier fast asleep and can't even answer a phone π. I'm so hurt they kept me from my grandparents and then talked so much shit about me. That's not what parents are supposed to do. I miss grandma and I want to call her π my mom does a great job at pushing everyone away. She's even telling me not to talk to the executor or ill be taken out of the trust. The executor is grandma's best friend and has no legal right to change anything. So much drama! And it's all about to get much much worse.
so sorry for your loss here for you
