Help readying for/dealing with balding and greying

#1
I don't have it clear as crystal yet, but I feel that major hairloss and graying is onsetting.

This would be bad enough I would have lived a life that could have been mine and identify as a complete adult. Instead, I'm a carcass piecing together an identity fundamentally of a repressed child.

On top of the usual feeling of humiliation and obsolescence, when it comes, I will have a far harder time reconnecting with the black-haired boy I'm trying to restore and heal.

I'd like some advice from those of you who have dealt with either of these. I want to lessen my unreadiness.

One of my traditional Chinese dietary therapy books recommends grinding black sesame seeds and black beans to a meal, and then cooking them with rice milk. It also recommends ground black sesame seeds in general and also black beans for graying hair and hair loss. Canned black beans aren't as good, but still might be ok (though it's important to rinse off any salt or preservatives thoroughly).

It sounds like you may be looking more for advice on a psychological level.

CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) can help when someone's outlook is a factor in their illness. There's evidence that people can get at least some of the benefits of CBT from a book. One of the most frequently recommended CBT books for depression is this:

Mind Over Mood, Second Edition: Change How You Feel by Changing the Way You Think

Dennis Greenberger, Christine A. Padesky

I haven't read it, but it's on the UK's reading-well book list, and every book there has been vetted by at least one healthcare professional.
