Hey... My mom died on the 3rd. Her birthday is tomorrow. Mothers day was yesterday. Ermm... I miss her. A lot.
I'll never be able to hug my mom or dad ever again.
I have no family left but my sister across the country. And my 90 year old aunt. So...I am very alone.
I'm trying to make friends. The isolation and grief is crippling.. 😢 I feel like I sabotage my own efforts. Because isolation.

I feel like I'm at rock bottom again..
A lot of memories of death and hospice and care giving. Idpent soo much time care giving. Now... I'm empty. I am alone. I live in an empty house now. My mom lived here with me.

What... Helps this? Any ideas...? It Feels like nothing will.
I have to sell her house now.... Its suffocating. I'm falling fast..

*hugs @foreverforgotten . . . & I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. You were a wonderful Daughter to your Mother. And I'm just glad to hear you've still got some family left, to keep in touch with. I'm sure the change is unsettling... &, I don't really know what will help you to get through? But hopefully some others can come in and lend some good suggestions. You've always got us to lean on. And trust me, anyone would be lucky to call you a friend! Take care~ mr. b

People on this forum are caring and supportive. Self care or self indulgence? You can go small - drugstore facial mask and foot soak at home - to bigger - facial and massage at a day spa. I love REALLY good dark chocolate. Just a little square is plenty if it’s rich. Walking can help. Music can help. Streaming guilty pleasure shows can help. You said “rock bottom again...” Was there anything that helped when you were at that low point before? Keep reaching out here! ((Hugs))

Thefurst time around..doing stuff with my dad helped.. He's deceased too though. But..I went to college classes to distract myself.. Went online forums, I went to the gym.. It was mainly my dad though.. We'd go see a movie...

Hi @foreverforgotten - I’m sorry to hear of your losses. With both parents gone it must feel very lonely. I’m glad you reached out here for support. You are not alone.

You did a lot for and with your mom and dad! You were clearly a loving daughter!

If you need distraction, coming here or into chat, or reading, listening to music, getting out and watching animals or young children playing in the park can be nice. For me, letting myself feel my feelings rather than fighting them helps when I’m sad or experiencing a real loss. I hope you continue to connect with us here. Please be kind to yourself. *hug

I'm very sorry for the loss of you mother @foreverforgotten . When my mother passed a year ago, which was hard because my niece and I were her caregivers during her alzheimer's what helped me after she passed was still talking to her. Even now, I still try to do things "for her". Her words still ring through my head too, such as "keep busy" if I ever complained of bring sad or bored. I have her ashes on my nightstand and my niece made a little alter with some of her favorite things do she can still talk with and honor her. It was especially hard because we made the decision to stop her treatments because we didn't want her dying alone in a hospital during covid.

Caring for a parent is not easy and losing one is not either as you know. Time does help. *console Screenshot_20210519-063824.jpg

Thank you so much for this. It us very helpful.. I still find myself talking to her, and my dad. I sometimes write letters to them, and i can hear their voice saying what they think... What she would say. *sadhugI'm sieyy about your mother. Alzheimer's is crazy difficult from what I hear... I guess we did the best we could, with the situations...
