Homelessness Rising Exponentially

Homelessness is definitely on the rise, and at a very rapid rate. And many of them are elderly too. In fact, if you look at Japan, many homeless-elderly get so desperate that they commit petty crimes and get caught purposely so they can have food and shelter in prison.

And so many treat it as though it’s some moral failing on the part of the individual when, more often than not, it’s a matter of society failing them.

I have a little experience with poverty (lived on welfare for a few years, spent a little while living out of my car, nothing extreme compared to some) but it’s enough to make me sensitive to the ways “respectable” people will turn their noses up at someone just for lacking what they take for granted.
