I set a timer for 15 minutes and do chores that way sometimes.
That's a good reliable way to go past barriers.

For me, usually motivation isn't the problem rather organisation of work, chores, etc.

@Aurelia One technique that's worked for me lately is to pick 1 not too large task and remind myself to stop thinking about it, that it's not a big deal and it'll be over in less than 5 minutes. Then immediately get up off my *** and get it done. Usually, or sometimes after this I'm more up for tackling part of the list.

If you enjoy reading and don't mind s.h. books: There's a good little book called Atomic Habits by James Clear.

Worried about a thing that happened about an hour ago, especially since the exact same thing happened the other day. It’s something most people usually worry about, just hoping it doesn’t happen again or I will probably have to go to the doc about it or something, ugh :/

Fucked. Absolutely completely and utterly fucked. I went out for a walk as sitting on the sofa was becoming uncomfortable. On the walk I got up a good pace and my leg didn't flare up as much as it has been. The exercise helped me feel a bit more positive and like I could start dealing with things. I thought maybe my leg and things will improve, maybe it's not so bad. Then I got home to find rain water soaking through the wall outside my door, a huge wet patch under the coping stone (I don't even know what the fucking thing is for). I already had the leaking window planned for some kind of repair I can't afford. So I've got health problems, income problems, my house is already becoming dilapidated and now the universe just spits in my face with yet another fucking urgent problem. I already got ripped off for £2000 on my roof this year. Now another fucking problem. All of it at fucking once, i wish I was fucking dead. I serioously cannot cope with any more and life just keeps piling it on.

Sorry your having further problems, now especially with the house. I feel like a dick now, talking about the vegetables. I wish you weren't dead and I like talking to you on the forum. I hope things settle down for you.

Aw don't worry about it. It was funny at the time. You seem to be practical, maybe I will ask your advice tomorrow. Things haven't settled down for 5 years and I don't expect them to ever, my life is going to be shitstorm until the day I die, I wrote a list of all the unlikely, 1 in 10,000 or even 1 in 100,000 things that have happened in my life, to one person, and it's just ridiculous. Not just subjectively, it is mathematically fucking ridiculous for someone to have this level of bad luck all the time.

Tired. I just wanted to go for a little walk then come back and carry on with my sci fi show, but after the debacle with the wall, I've been researching options for the last 2 hours and analysing it all with AI tools. So much for my quiet week this week, I've got days free of commuting, but am going to have to use them to chase builders and doctors and also get on with my project work to make the money to try to pay for all this without cannibalizing my pension fund. I'm going to bed. Part of me hopes I just don't wake up, but as I probably won't sleep, that's not going to happen as I won't be asleep in the first place....

Depressed. My cat needs to go to the vet because she’s not eating anything and I am going to be stretched to pay for it. I have a bad attitude about work but I’m here. I just spent yesterday with a friend who is clinically depressed. I’m not happy nor in between happy or sad. Too many 1st world problems.
