How Are You Feeling Right Now?

really lonely. i dislike how much i care about that. but i do care. i really wish my best friend would ask me to hang out like they hang out with others all the time. i think maybe they just think of others first or something which is fair because i am not as fun anymore with the depression getting bad.
Welcome. I am usually very lonely and depressed by it. But here you will find yourself a great couple of people here who are willing to share their thoughts.

I'm a bit scared and anxious. I have been having Neuro symptoms that have been under control for 4 years or so when my brain started up with the focal seizure activity....not been a real issue. These past two or more weeks there have been breakthrough seizing and this past week a new and incredibly awful (how do you like that for medical terminology*huh)experience multiple times a day with cold waves coursing through upper body that go bone level deep. It's bizarre. I went to neurologist Friday after 4 days of it. She doubled one of my meds. Now those side effects (she didn't tell me but I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN....that tells you how off I am) have kicked in so I'm doing my best to slow down, rest, and not be active for a few days. Hah! I'm trying to be compliant with this modification though. My labs I took yesterday just came back ALL NORMAL.....no infection, nothing out of range, etc etc..... I'm hydrating, increasing proteins, and adding more electrolytes and calcium and magnesium.....yada yada:)
I just have to wait and let the meds (I hope and pray) take effect and smooth out and then feel normal again. Thanks for listening folks*hug

Social connection is a human need, along with food, shelter, and sunlight. IMHO it’s healthy that you do care.

I also wrestle with loneliness almost constantly. In my case, my friends and I are mutually busy with adulting so finding gaps in both our schedules that coincide is rare. Eventually I just got used to isolation, but I am suffering the effects of not having face to face connection.

The aggravating thing is that damn near everyone is lonely. We are likely surrounded by strangers who are also lonely, but we have no social protocol to be able to reach out to someone to whom we have not been introduced just to chat.

its really rough to feel lonely.

i have heard that social connection is a human need though i never thought of it like that before. for some reason i always feel like im being bad for caring as much as i do about it.

I hope that things work for you. That waiting for the treatments to take effect can take some time.

I was doing pretty well, but my anxiety just hit me out of nowhere.

I was feeling accomplished because I finally made some progress on something that I was afraid to do. I even noticed that my self destructive urges were gone, and instead I felt like I could eat food that came from the periphery of the grocery store, as opposed to 90% of my calories being from the boxes in the crackers and cookies aisle.

But now the anxiety is back. I know it’s irrational but I was afraid of the thing I needed to do because I was afraid of being punished. So now I’m worried that some unknown threat is stalking me. The anxiety says that standing up for myself is bad because it is better to stay under the radar. Don’t rock the boat, the nail that stands out is hammered the hardest, yada yada.

I even have a paranoid fantasy that one or another federal agency will notice my pointed political posts on social media and decide to plant some evidence, immediately raid my place, and then I get charged with a horrible crime that will make my family ashamed and everyone else will hate me. Lucky for me, I am not nearly important enough to warrant that level of expenditure. I think I am safe but I don’t feel safe.

A bit apprehensive. Got this taskrabbit chap coming to do the garden, and I have to do things like open alley gates, show him how to get through, possibly drag the garden waste bin out, will try to get him to do it but he's a new hire so don't know how friendly or cooperative he will be. Very is my hope then I can write him a good review and offer him more work in future!
