How Are You Feeling Right Now?

I'm feeling all sorts of things.

I've been fighting a fungal infection in my mouth for working on a month now. I've had all the treatment that my primary plus two ER docs have recommended. (Nystatin and Diflucan). I had an appointment with my primary today which was changed to a telehealth due to the office being closed as their AC wasn't working (deadly in Texas heat). She just prescribed more Diflucan (which I've had 14 days of anyway) and referred me to my dentist.

So I have called dentist and made an appointment for tomorrow morning at 8 am. But the last in person with primary she didn't even so much as LOOK at my mouth.

I feel my primary doctor isn't listening or caring. This is not a good feeling to have. Maybe I need a new primary doc. I did look at the available docs on my insurance and there are several in town. But, damn, its a hassle to change primary docs on my insurance (HMO).

I did visit my psychiatrist on Tuesday to restart meds. I have had to accept that I will be on psych meds for the rest of my life. The only nasty surprise was that he is not accepting my insurance and it was a $150 self pay. I did restart Abilify and feel much better, my appetite is back and my head is much clearer.

I'm not sleeping. I get 1 1/2 to 2 hours and I am awake. Part of it is the problem with my mouth (I'd go into details but its gross). Last night I got about 3 hours sleep. Tonight doesn't look to be any better.

Sorry to ramble, just feel alone tonight and wanted to talk.
Same thinf about PCP. On thenlast couple of visits they told me to feel free to look for someonebelse but they will continue to prescribe meds but, it's a hassle as you say. And I hope your mouth health improves and you get more restfull nights.

@Angie I'm sorry the doctor hasn't paid you more attention. I'm not a doctor, but a month of the thrush infection seems absolutely intolerable. I don't know how I'd bear that without being in hospital. As I mentioned, I have had it (during lactation) and it was excruciating and made me extremely sick. I'd think you should see a specialist in intectious diseases; but I'm kind of joining in your ramble now.

We are all with you. I wish you the best, and send my kind of prayers for your health and comfort, and sleep.

Best of luck with the dentist. Hope he can resolve this and quickly.

Calmer. The medication has flipped a switch in my brain - got some sleep and it's doing everything it's supposed to. My brain is just better on it than off. It's turned down my adrenaline responses. Also I just got a phone call from GP saying come in for physio appointment this afternoon. Fortunately I wasn't in office today, I do have a video call that clashes but I think under the circumstances, it is allowable to move it.

I have been experiencing severe allostatic overload and trauma responses for so long I forgot what normal feels like. My body is all over the place but am not panicking at the new pains - its like a crumpled cardboard box creaking as it slowly decompresses.

Suddenly I've actually got proper support after 2 months of pain and fear. Probably too much support right now lol.

I feel so stupid. I can't think properly; my memory is impaired; I struggle to find my words; I make mistakes; I have trouble focusing; I can't multitask like I used to.

Or maybe I'm just stupid and only realize it now.
You are one of the most eloquent people I have ever met, and English isn't even your first language.

You are struggling and everything seems dismal, I am so sorry.
