Then I went to my physio appointment. She did all these weird things pulling my leg in all kinds of directions and ramped up the exercises. By the time I got back to the office my hip was twingeing constantly and feels like its wrecked. My pelvic floor is also on fire again. I think she's pulling and prodding without much clue what's actually going on and doesn't appear to be cognisant that a pelvic floor sensitised by trauma in surrounding muscles and constant severe stress, isn't going to respond well to being assaulted.
The twisting and pulling, I imagine, was diagnostic and she's of the school of thought that doesn't give a lot of credence to patient input. That said, when my PT(s) were diagnosing me, they did so carefully and gently, as opposed to wrenching stuff around. The first one was more or less specialized in the relationship between muscle, connective tissue, and bones, so she knew how to test range of motion and still be respectful of the fascia. It sounds like you're doing the best thing, though, in planning to notify them of the pain and that it is quite dissimilar from muscle soreness (DOMS). Hope you feel better.
