I have a similar problem with my anger/resentment over how I was treated when I tried to get help for a suicidal near-crisis. I was treated worse than an animal and now that’s the first thought that I wake up with every single day. It’s been just under 2 years of this.
Working to accept what happened is only possible when I am able to think rationally. When I wake up, the threat detection system is online about a half hour before rational decision making does.
Same with high levels of CNS activity when I am tired and/or stressed. I’m finding that I feel better when I’m connecting with other human beings. It’s not to talk about what happened but rather plain old socialization and that takes my mind off it.

Ive noticed too that when ever i feel suicidal i continuously check my notifications or just try and have small talk with my friends. Any kind of distraction works but conversation seems to work the best.
