If you aren't privy to my story, basically I grew up with severe autism but it went undiagnosed until I was close to my mid-30s (I'm 41 now). It's caused me immense difficulty in finding and keeping a job, to the point where I'm convinced that at least 2 former businesses fired me for it and I'm afraid my current employer is gonna follow suit. Basically I wasted my whole 20s chasing a theatre tech career that never progressed beyond local small theatres. Once I was out front and center with that prospect I was forced to pivot and thought health care would be the answer. First I joined the eye care place in my local Wal-Mart in 2016 and I loved it, until I got into an altercation with another coworker after 3 years and she leveraged my disability to get me fired. I had trouble finding another eye care place in town but found a place in Milwaukee that was willing to hire me. That was October 2019. That went well (because we all know what happened in 2020). I was forced out of the job and had to move back home. I was forced to pivot again but less dramatically so into the pharmacy. I've been employed at 3 places in the last 6 years. Osco fired me because I was having an autistic meltdown and one of the other workers started yelling at me and when I retaliated I was fired. Now it's happening again. I'm having trouble finding ways to prevent it from happening but I'm afraid it's only a matter of time. The store I work at has said that everyone feels like they're walking on eggshells. When I challenged them back by telling them that I know I can get better at my job they told me to stay in my lane and that I will NEVER get better because "either I have the skills or I don't". Like there's gonna be no way I will ever get the chance to improve. I've been here before and I still don't know what to do. I think the only way to solve anything is suicide.
