Looking for people who will accept me for who I am
#24
The beauty of the Space Shuttle roaring through the atmosphere on twin pillars of fire, the thunder of about 7 million pounds of thrust, the epic power of it all. To me, it was one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen because it was a symbol of what we were capable of achieving.

That's why my time at the Space Center was the best job I've ever had.

1. What, in your opinion, is the most beautiful thing to look at (or watch happen) in the universe?

Wildlife is great even when you are watching the cycle of life in action which can be messy but then again all of life feeds on death of something. Beyond that watching the planets, stars and other sights through my telescope.

2. What would be your estimate of how quickly you drink your coffee (or tea, if you prefer) when you make a cup (assuming that it's not too hot to drink in a normal fashion)? And do you drink the whole thing or is there usually some left over in the cup when you're done drinking it?

Never got into coffee and here in these parts it is unsweetened iced tea as the drink, but I typically guzzle anything when I drink.

3. For those without a job, how often do you leave your house? And for those with a job, how often do you leave your house to do other things when you're not working?

As rare as possible perhaps out every two or three weeks running errands to the stores.

4. How many people do you have in your life whom you would call friends (my definition of friends are people who would be there to talk or support you when you need it, and who would do what they could to help if you were in a tough situation)?

None, but I do have an acquaintance, mostly like a friend but with fine and fun benefits. She and I get along well because both of us are antisocial in personality so we can spend some time together from time to time and not worry about being able to say: OK, I have had enough of you for now, time to go or for the other one to go.

5. Name 3 things that either help you destress or just some things that you enjoy (could be objects, activities, hobbies, whatever)?

All of my hobbies, sleep is great, reading is very relaxing and so is humor for me, watching my silly and fun little cat while she looks at me with a "What is that jackass doing now?" expression.

6. If you drink soda, what is your favorite soda? Or if you don't drink it, what is your favorite drink?

Coke for sure. Great way to get refreshed and wake up.

1. What, in your opinion, is the most beautiful thing to look at (or watch happen) in the universe?
Just nature in and of itself.

2. What would be your estimate of how quickly you drink your coffee (or tea, if you prefer) when you make a cup (assuming that it's not too hot to drink in a normal fashion)? And do you drink the whole thing or is there usually some left over in the cup when you're done drinking it?
I drank a coffee energy drink in 10 minutes flat yesterday morning. So I guess it depends how much I need the caffeine. And there's usually some left over if it's brewed coffee.

3. For those without a job, how often do you leave your house? And for those with a job, how often do you leave your house to do other things when you're not working?
Only if I have to shop or go to a doctor's appointment, so once a week if I'm lucky.

4. How many people do you have in your life whom you would call friends (my definition of friends are people who would be there to talk or support you when you need it, and who would do what they could to help if you were in a tough situation)?
Well, there's only a few people who talk to me on a regular basis, and I'm not really sure how to answer that, because I'm usually the one who helps myself.

5. Name 3 things that either help you destress or just some things that you enjoy (could be objects, activities, hobbies, whatever)?
Movies, music, and reading.

6. If you drink soda, what is your favorite soda? Or if you don't drink it, what is your favorite drink?
Mountain Dew but there's many kinds I like.

No cafe yet today? I haven't spoken much in these things as of late, and the day I finally decide, "I think I'm going to go say hello in today's cafe," there's none to be found!

So looks like I'm going to be starting it.

Today's questions:

1. What, in your opinion, is the most beautiful thing to look at (or watch happen) in the universe?
2. What would be your estimate of how quickly you drink your coffee (or tea, if you prefer) when you make a cup (assuming that it's not too hot to drink in a normal fashion)? And do you drink the whole thing or is there usually some left over in the cup when you're done drinking it?

4. How many people do you have in your life whom you would call friends (my definition of friends are people who would be there to talk or support you when you need it, and who would do what they could to help if you were in a tough situation)?

^^ I've been eating the shit out of these. Usually, I'm not a huge fan of chocolate, but these are, like, the perfect ratio of chocolate to cream filling.

View attachment 42111

I've also really liked eating grilled chicken parm sandwiches as of late. But it has to be grilled chicken, not breaded. And light on the sauce, and plenty of cheese. And the ones I get from the local Italian restaurant look about 10 times better than this picture :P They also marinate their grilled chicken in some shit. Whatever it is, it's freaking amazing.

And lastly...

View attachment 42112

Shrimp alfredo. This has always been one of my favorites.

And a cherry pepsi to go with it. Maybe also some breadsticks, or mozzarella sticks/fries.

Post some pictures of your favorite things to eat or drink if you like.
I summon myself here out of boredom and procrastination. It's interesting to have daily threads on daily life things. As for the daily questions:
  1. I love watching bunnies (rabbits) doing their stuffs, like running, eating and sleeping.
  2. Probably 30-45 minutes if I have a calm moment in my life to enjoy the taste and the smell, and 5 minutes if the schedule is tight. Nothing must be left over, regardless.
  3. There is always one daily trip for grocery in a local market and a handful trips. Then, there are meetings with my co-workers, which are still work-related somewhat. Then, on weekend, a trip to explore my city. Of course, I have my mask on and I have a hand cleansing gel.
  4. According to your definition of friend, no one in real life but maybe you and others in this forum.
  5. Watching videos on Youtube (Short documentaries, if I can find it), my personal projects and buying me stuffs that I enjoy (a hobby, I guess).
  6. I stop drinking soda for a while now. My favorite drink is pennywort smoothie with coconut milk. It looks similar to this Google image (the pennywort is in the background):

Hey @Aurelia TY for the tag. *hug

1. What, in your opinion, is the most beautiful thing to look at (or watch happen) in the universe?

--- for me, I get strong nostalgia/happiness from wind and breezes, especially warm breezes in the desert at night.. Also the stars at night, in a nice dark spot out in the boonies.. Love the night.

2. What would be your estimate of how quickly you drink your coffee (or tea, if you prefer) when you make a cup (assuming that it's not too hot to drink in a normal fashion)? And do you drink the whole thing or is there usually some left over in the cup when you're done drinking it?

---- I drink a lot. Like a lot, a lot. So my morning chai/jasmine tea is in a 16oz cup. I usually finish it. But sometimes drink half, and save the rest to have with lunch.

3. For those without a job, how often do you leave your house? And for those with a job, how often do you leave your house to do other things when you're not working?

--- every day...on days off its laundromat, groceries, take mom to Dr. Appointments, or some other chore.. I wish I could have a day at home. but I dont miss the depression from it either. I know that this is better...

4. How many people do you have in your life whom you would call friends (my definition of friends are people who would be there to talk or support you when you need it, and who would do what they could to help if you were in a tough situation)?

---- I have 0. In any sense. No acquaintances IRL currently either. However, this site and everyone here are a good support... Truly the only reason I am still here *hug

5. Name 3 things that either help you destress or just some things that you enjoy (could be objects, activities, hobbies, whatever)?
--- music, nature, my cat, asmr, chai tea..

6. If you drink soda, what is your favorite soda? Or if you don't drink it, what is your favorite drink?

--- When I drank soda it was Dr. Pepper. I still miss it. But I have stomach issues. Fav drink is chai tea. Or chocolate milk. ๐Ÿ˜

Good evening everyone, its 22:27 here. Love to evening/night shift. Happy Sunday. I just got off work. *hug

So looks like I'm going to be starting it.

Today's questions:

1. What, in your opinion, is the most beautiful thing to look at (or watch happen) in the universe?
In my opinion, the birth of your child. In one way it is a hard thing to watch but in another way it is the most awesome experience a person can have.
2. What would be your estimate of how quickly you drink your coffee (or tea, if you prefer) when you make a cup (assuming that it's not too hot to drink in a normal fashion)? And do you drink the whole thing or is there usually some left over in the cup when you're done drinking it?
A large cup of coffee lasts me about an hour when I am sitting at my desk with my Chromebook perusing the internet. There is usually some left at the bottom.
3. For those without a job, how often do you leave your house? And for those with a job, how often do you leave your house to do other things when you're not working?
In the summer time I am out and about more than in the winter time. During summer I usually go out once or twice a week, in the winter time hardly ever , only necessities.
4. How many people do you have in your life whom you would call friends (my definition of friends are people who would be there to talk or support you when you need it, and who would do what they could to help if you were in a tough situation)?
I would say one person.
5. Name 3 things that either help you destress or just some things that you enjoy (could be objects, activities, hobbies, whatever)?
Working on my lanterns, drinking whisky, looking through all my stuff and finding things I didn't know I had.

6. If you drink soda, what is your favorite soda? Or if you don't drink it, what is your favorite drink?
Dr Pepper
is my soda of choice, would find it hard to live without.

Post some pictures of your favorite things to eat or drink if you like.

Thanks for the tag @Aurelia
Sorry I'm late.

1. What, in your opinion, is the most beautiful thing to look at (or watch happen) in the universe? I really like sunrises
2. What would be your estimate of how quickly you drink your coffee (or tea, if you prefer) when you make a cup (assuming that it's not too hot to drink in a normal fashion)? And do you drink the whole thing or is there usually some left over in the cup when you're done drinking it? I try to savor it for a little, but it also kinda depends. I do make sure to finish it though.
3. For those without a job, how often do you leave your house? And for those with a job, how often do you leave your house to do other things when you're not working? I don't have a job. I used to try to leave my house every day, but lately I've been doing it a little less.
4. How many people do you have in your life whom you would call friends (my definition of friends are people who would be there to talk or support you when you need it, and who would do what they could to help if you were in a tough situation)? I find that really hard to gauge because a lot of the relationships I have feel like I'm the only one supporting them anymore. And the people closest to me aren't available in real life due to distance.
5. Name 3 things that either help you destress or just some things that you enjoy (could be objects, activities, hobbies, whatever)? Music, food, sports (though this one is not so much on the destressing side of things because I get worked up about the performance of my favorite teams :P )
6. If you drink soda, what is your favorite soda? Or if you don't drink it, what is your favorite drink? My favorite soda is cotton candy Faygo.

Thank you for inviting me @Aurelia
I like all your questions but I only have a couple interesting answers

Name 3 things that either help you destress or just some things that you enjoy (could be objects, activities, hobbies, whatever)?
Meditation, it has literally saved my life
Dancing without abandon all over my house
Being in nature, the woods, the beach, by a river, doesn't matter just seeing it, smelling it and being a part of it

I also love to cook. I recently made crepes with a mornay sauce. They were freaking delicious!

Hi All, hope everyone's okay. Thought I'd pop in. I like the questions.

1. What, in your opinion, is the most beautiful thing to look at (or watch happen) in the universe?

instant karma and probably someone realizing their worth.

2. What would be your estimate of how quickly you drink your coffee (or tea, if you prefer) when you make a cup (assuming that it's not too hot to drink in a normal fashion)? And do you drink the whole thing or is there usually some left over in the cup when you're done drinking it?

Slowly, sip by sip and painfully (apparently to some). Generally leave half a cup of coffee around unless I'm in desperate need of full caffeine.

3. For those without a job, how often do you leave your house? And for those with a job, how often do you leave your house to do other things when you're not working?

Well, I've been working from home for 10 months now so... I'm always home. I leave home like 3 times a week for errands and stuff.

4. How many people do you have in your life whom you would call friends (my definition of friends are people who would be there to talk or support you when you need it, and who would do what they could to help if you were in a tough situation)?

Maybe 1-2.

5. Name 3 things that either help you destress or just some things that you enjoy (could be objects, activities, hobbies, whatever)?

I've been trying new de-stressors that involve a yoga ball and stretching. It helps.

6. If you drink soda, what is your favorite soda? Or if you don't drink it, what is your favorite drink?

When I used to drink soda my favorite in all the land was Cherry Pepsi.

Now I just drink sparkling water... it's like nicotine gum for smokers trying to quit.

I think students job is their coursework. This, the word, work, ha. I'm proud of my own children, especially when they have to work at it more or there's a teacher that they don't see eye to eye with. I think you're amazing @Baywasp, smart and brave. Sorry I'm sure I'm embarrassing you! Please forgive ๐Ÿ˜œ
