The snow storm hit on Wednesday here (northern IN, USA). Most departments are ahead of schedule so they told everyone to go home at 11:30 am on Wednesday and not to come back until Friday. A friend at work lost his drivers license because he was stupid so I dropped him off at home, it took me an hour and a half to drive home, normally a 30 minute commute. It was white knuckles all the way, stopping once to clear the windshield wipers. Friday morning was clear again.
+1 on the feelings about China's abuse of human rights, the total disregard for any decent standard of living and freedom of any sort; expression, speech, etc.
I don't watch television, I was raised without one and I find the news bias comical, I don't care which side they are on. I actually find it incredible that there are only two sides. I was not allowed in sports at school so football etc. do nothing for me; I understand the game now but I find it embarrassing that there is a man with crutches that can hardly walk putting out a coffee can to get money to live while we are paying somebody 3 million dollars per year because they are good at throwing a ball.
In a little bit I have to get dressed to go to a memorial service for a coworker, he will be missed, a very unexpected death. I am using the occasion as an excuse to trim my toenails and scrape my fingernails clean and get out actual dress pants instead of jeans.
I am writing a memoir in a series of short stories. My current story is about my fishing experience and it has renewed my interest in fishing and camping. I have not gone fishing since my divorce 5 years ago, I really struggled with depression for a few years. I bought a tent and a kit to build a 4 weight fly rod and some stuff to tie flies again, I will probably tie some fishing flies this afternoon.
Thank you for opening the cafe and the tag.
