Hey everyone, really been missing seeing a new cafe posted so just thought I’d post one for today. Hope everyone is well. Last couple weeks have kind of been hell for me but doing my best to stay positive and hopeful about things.

Today’s theme is spring. Here’s a collage of some spring themed pics, and there’s a few questions too if people feel like answering those. Or feel free to talk about what’s on your mind.

0642BF28-B603-4DEF-9CC6-3A4D08B70648.jpeg

Questions:

1. Do you like spring?
2. What are some of your fave things about spring?
3. Is there anything you don’t like about spring?
4. Non-spring themed question - what are things that help you feel better when you are feeling hopeless about things?

And now my answers to the questions :p

1. Do you like spring?
Yes, it’s my fave season.

2. What are some of your fave things about spring?
All the pretty flowers, the animals and the longer, warmer days.

3. Is there anything you don’t like about spring?
I guess some/most of the bugs maybe lol.

4. Non-spring themed question - what are things that help you feel better when you are feeling hopeless about things?

I struggle greatly with feeling better when I feel really hopeless, but reading, writing, watching comedy movies or shows (or stand up comedy), talking to someone about those feelings and definitely if someone says or does something nice/kind/thoughtful or just shows they care. Yup, all those things definitely help, a lot :)

Thanks for opening a cafe @JMG . I was trying to come up with a theme and may open a cafe with no theme.

1. Do you like spring?
It's ok. Here in New England USA we have Mud season and then summer temps for spring. Right now it's mud season and the snow is gone.
2. What are some of your fave things about spring?

Flowers and green on the lawns and trees. just the color bursting forth. By summer I am used to it.

3. Is there anything you don’t like about spring?

I agree about the bugs. And the hiking trails start to get busy.

4. Non-spring themed question - what are things that help you feel better when you are feeling hopeless about things?

Venting on SF - just to know someone has heard me. Exercise and walks help to distract me. Sometimes I take the time for a pity party. :)

Thanks for tagging me @JMG and opening the cafe.

1. Spring is my favorite season as it has the best weather, before it starts raining again throughout the Summer.

2. The clear blue skies, the warmer weather, all the colours brighten up and become abundant.

3. That it didnt last a bit longer.

4. I havent felt hopeless for a while, sad at times, but not hopeless.

Thanks for the opening!

1. Do you like spring?
Yes.
2. What are some of your fave things about spring?
The world wakes up. I also love Easter and what it means to me.
3. Is there anything you don’t like about spring?

The longer days, I sleep strange hours, and like a 6 pm bedtime lol
4. Non-spring themed question - what are things that help you feel better when you are feeling hopeless about things?

Remembering that before when I felt hopeless that things did get better.

Also, please feel free to open a Cafe in any manner you want. The theme/questions are a fairly new evolution, in the past, we simply talked about our day and our plans and supported those who were struggling. I, personally, have run out of themes lol

Thanks to @JMG for the café. ☕️🥕🌱 I hope everyone is doing as well as possible.

Last couple weeks have kind of been hell for me but doing my best to stay positive and hopeful about things.
I'm sorry. I admit I know what you mean as I've been cycling way up and then dropping way down. It's good to hear that you are doing what you can to stay positive and hopeful. I believe every time we manage this, even a little bit, it adds to our resiliancy bank. Well done JMG. Thank you for making people feel wecome.

1. Do you like spring? Yes, very much so. I love that nature still has power
2. What are some of your fave things about spring? Rain, flowers and leaf-buds on branches, the skies change, the sunlight coming earlier each day
3. Is there anything you don’t like about spring? sometimes I get a touch of allergies
4. Non-spring themed question - what are things that help you feel better when you are feeling hopeless about things? Hmm. Well for a start, lately, I let it just be hopeless way for awhile. I get out and move my body in spite of anxiety and without attempting to change my mind's gloom. I make soups/salads/and sometimes cake from scratch - especially if I have no appetite, which can happen when I'm down.

1. Do you like spring?

Here in the southern hemisphere we have autumn instead of spring. It rains a lot (and we have tropical rain, which is a really heavy rain, tons of water).

I like it because if it wasn't for the rain, the days here would be too hot. But at the same time it can get really damp around here.

Spring here is really hot. And it has a lot of rain. In fact, except winter and maybe summer, it rains a lot in Brazil. Except when it doesn't and then there is scorching heat.

2. What are some of your fave things about spring?

It gets warmer instead of cold. Winter here where I live can be pretty cold. Sometimes reaching close to 0 C°. It isn't because it is South America that it isn't cold (and we also don't have central warming, so it is cold all the time).

Birds also sing more in spring here and there is the summer breeze. It isn't so hot as summer.

3. Is there anything you don’t like about spring?

Sweating probably.

4. Non-spring themed question - what are things that help you feel better when you are feeling hopeless about things?

Probably the idea that I'm going down helps me to accept despair a little more.

Thank you for opening the cafe and also for the tag @JMG. I love all the pics as usual :)

1. Do you like spring?
Yes, it's when everything starts coming back to life.

2. What are some of your fave things about spring?
The thaw of winter and warmer temperatures.

3. Is there anything you don’t like about spring?
Not really, mostly when it's transitioning from winter and all muddy and dead yet.

4. Non-spring themed question - what are things that help you feel better when you are feeling hopeless about things?

Talking to friends, making videos, listening to music, reading, and writing.

Ticks, mosquitoes, more traffic in the hills 🚵‍♀️🚵‍♂️

Thank you Angie, I appreciate that a lot. I agree that it is sometimes hard to think of themes/questions. When a new season or month starts then that’s a bit easier (or the bigger holidays/celebration kinds of things) but ok, when I open one again then I won’t worry so much about a theme and will leave it more open and just ask how people are doing :p

Aw you’re welcome ;) And thank you for your kind compassion about what I said, that definitely means a lot to me :) I appreciate what you said about going through hell (and somehow “surviving it” lol) building our resiliency bank. I definitely like to think that it did that, makes all the suffering at least have a bit of a point, which is deeply comforting. Sorry to hear you’ve been cycling up and dropping back down. I hope things will be more calm for you soon :)

1. Do you like spring?

I do, it ranks just after Fall for me.

2. What are some of your fave things about spring?

I can't think of anything bad about Spring except it warms up too much and too quickly in central Texas.

Things start to warm up from Winter and less likelihood of severe cold. It is always pretty to see things bloom also.

That picture of the chick is cute and funny. Like a child or pet splashing through puddles and having a great time. The black cat is great too, cats are fun and black cats are beautiful. You know what you do when you see a black cat? Pet it. Hand out treats if you have any. :)

Thank you for the tag and opening @JMG.

I like Spring a lot

My favorite things about spring include the blooms, the first bees on the flowers, saying goodbye to cold weather, being able to wear flip flops again.

All the pics are super cute but im partial to the black cat.

Things that make me feel better when feeling hopeless are #1 medicine then therapy. The other things include petting my cat, thinking that things aren't permanent and will change (positive thoughts). Seeing a funny movie or reading a book. Taking a walk.

Me too. I lived with a fair number of cats, but there was only one that was really mine; a black one named Malcolm. He made me understand the appeal of assholes; when they’re a dick to everyone else but nice to you, you feel special. That was 15 years ago, but all black cats are still “Malcolms” to me.

RiP Malcolm. I still remember the cats in my life from childhood. We had one black cat named Pepper. I loved this cat, I was about 8. Then one day I came home from school and my mother said she gave him t o my sister's boyfriend. Just like that. Then they wondered why I was so upset. Sorry for the sad story @Gonz. I just remembered that.

I grew up with a great big black cat, who chose me over all the other people living in my parent's house. I felt honoured. He lived to a grand old age and survived at least 9 near-disasters. He was always traipsing around the wild area behind the house but then when he'd curl up with me to sleep, would often transfer poison-oak to my neck. He would chase us like a puppy, around the back lawn. I miss him still.
