as well as promote weight loss
Man, I'll drink anything if it helps me to lose weight *yes4

Thanks for the tags @extraterrestrialone and @KM76710 (look at you with your tagging :) )

Dandelions also play a crucial role in the health of bees. Being one of the earliest flowers in spring, just as the bees are becoming active again after the winter, they provide essential pollen and nectar. So dandelions and have a big impact on our crops and other plants.

There's something to it as it turns out. Just read Korean researchers claim that dandelion root tea can work as good as the weight loss drug Orlistat. It blocks an enzyme needed to break down fat during digestion, preventing up to 25% of fat consumed being absorbed . It also spurs the kidneys to release excess water, flushing up to 5 lbs and two inches from belly in 48 hours. All good, but the taste really is awful :(

the plate is fairly small but the leaves are store bought and pretty big. in nyc i don’t think it is safe to pick dandelions for human consumption at all! you never know what they might have picked up or otherwise had placed upon them.
And I never make a dandelion salad without fried bacon, cooked egg and potato, which you mix in when still hot so that it softens the leaves. Sometimes I add feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, beans...oh and never forget garlic.
these suggestions sound pretty tempting. I will remember and give them a try. thanks for telling Inya! 😊

Thank you for saying/admitting this, I was starting to worry a bit lol. Was def. gonna say of course I did that all the time "as a kid" wasn't sure whether to add "and still do" so thank you for making it a heck of a lot easier! Lol :p ;)

Lmao that is such a hilarious "dandelion snowman" ha love it, so creative! :p Hope you have a great Monday too :)
Tysm for the tag @extraterrestrialone and for opening the cafe today too :)

Looks like lots of people already posted lots of interesting factoids on dandelions so not sure what else I can add. Before I read those facts all I really knew about them was that they are either yellow or those clear white puffy things depending on their stage of life, that lots of people don't like them cos of considering them to be "weeds" and that I always felt very sad for them for that reason cos I think they are adorable lil flowers & I've always loved them a lot. Used to have a lot of fun picking them as a kid and making lil "dandelion bouquets" with them. Was easy to do since there were always so many of them around. I'm glad you love them so much cos they deserve to be loved and celebrated a lot more. :)❤ ❤ ❤

I put the first of these 4 collages together of some pix I found, hope someone out there likes it but if not then sorry I tried. The other ones are some yellow flower collages I found, and the last is some cool alien stickers I like & think are cool ;):)

Welp, I'm not a fan of dandelions because they were used to punish me as a child and I have flashbacks of hours sitting in the yard being forced to pull the entire root out ( which is very difficult if not impossible with just your hands)

However, I know dandelions are excellent for health. I have yet to try dandelion tea, but I would like to.

Also be careful to not pull up your front yard weeds and eat them because who knows what's in your yard, consume safely. Cheers!
Thanks for the invite @extraterrestrialone

i hope this helps as a buffer against any bad feelings you might have - that know dandelions as the symbol of perseverance. i think its a good way to think of them!!! it is sad that you know them as punishment, but maybe they’ve also helped to give you strength to keep on fighting.

Omg I love that. You do have to persevere as the torment and boredom of picking them was awful. Great association, thank you! It did help actually.

I realise that I'm extremely late but I wanted to share because I love plants and flowers!

For some reason, I had no idea that they were considered a weed! I guess that anything that has a flower, I don't view as a pest but rather a beautiful thing.

When I was a young girl, there was a boy who lived across the road who would get warts on his hands. My father told me that if you broke the stem, a white substance would come out which would kill the wart. I told the boy and we spent the next few weeks searching for them and applying it. Low and behold, the wart shrunk and eventually disappeared! I felt like some special doctor who knew a secret medicine that no one else knew about :D (I was a very naive young girl!) Maybe that's why I've never viewed them as a weed but rather a beautiful flower that was also a medicine.

I'm fairly certain that I've got them in my yard but I'll have to check tomorrow as it's after midnight here!

For some reason, I never used to like blowing the balls. I felt bad to pick them, blow them (for my own novelty) and then throw them away because I'd just ended it's life. So I tend to just leave them be to keep on living! I clearly have some strange sense of life when it comes to plants! :D Weird, I know. Hahaha.

Here's a song that I discovered last year and I really like it. It's a "happy" song that has a nice feeling about it :)

Ruth B - Dandelions

The end. I'm such a chatterbox *hysterical

Well, as I already said, I definitely like them *yes4 and I wish you wouldn't worry if some people may not like them. I understand though because I think the same thing when I make pics. The important thing is that I find it extremely therapeutic to do so that's the main thing. Not that I share most of the things that I do.

Did you do the last one with the aliens? Just curious. Keep being creative... it's good for the soul! *hug

Clearly I AM Kira from the Dark Crystal! In the movie, she (I) heals Jen (the male Gelfling) with some moss! Plus she can talk to all the animals in a special language - I always talk to my cat's in a made up language. I'm clearly showing my true kooky colours tonight *hysterical
