Welcome to the Cafe Holiday Party - It is Friday, TGIF and it is almost Christmas for hose that choose to celebrate Christmas, and we are in the last 8 days of the entire year - Congratulations all - you have almost made it !

In proud holiday tradition , I am happy to provide a full array sweets, nuts, breads, and candies to all, as well as have a catering staff on hand for any cooking needs- so all SFers may all take the day off and do nothing but enjoy the day - bringing something to share is completely optional but surely appreciated - but your company is all that really matters so thank you for coming in today.

I am leaving in a few hours to go down and see my older daughters and their husbands, plus get to play with the grandchildren in a makeup trip for last weekend when we had a snow delay. I twill be a much shorter / fast turnaround, but getting to see them and share some gifts and hugs is all that I needed anyway. My oldest daughter has a baby that is 10 months old - his first Xmas and I really wanted to see him for that. She mentioned "he wont remember anyway"- my reply- "no, but I will....."

The goal for today is a simple one but sincere- to have a safe weekend and remember to be as kind to yourself as you are to others ... we all owe ourselves that small gift.

Happy Holidays to all that celebrate this weekend, Have a great weekend to all period, and thanks for sharing a few minutes of your day here at the cafe and on SF :)

I have several bags of lindt chocolates to share - too much chocolate for me. IRL I have too many bags of chocolate I will bring them to the mission to distribute with lunch and/or dinner or to leave on the tables for the homeless to enjoy. I have today off and already I am restless two hours after waking up. Not much to do as I made Christmas gifts this year and everything is wrapped up and ready.

Happy holidays SF!

That is such a kind thing to do with the extra chocolates - you have my admiration for having thouhgt od such a simple and kind gesture unlike most of us thta just talk about having too much for weeks after xmas... Good on you @cymbele Happy Holidays !

I slept more than 12 hours again. I think I'm gonna give up on sleeping during the night and take only naps during the day.

Trying to write more stuff so I can feel my head less heavy than it is.

I'm not in the holiday spirit, though I really want to be. Having no one to spend this time of year with and having no money just seriously takes its toll.

Honestly I can't picture myself being happy even in the future. I really don't know what to do.

Try not to think too much about the future; good can come in to surprise you.

Maybe you can make a playlist online of songs you like as a mini way to celebrate or save some videos t0 watch, or short stories or funny ones to read. Sometimes the smallest things do count.

Today is a rough anniversary for me that has been subconsciously bothering me for the past week. BUT, today itself turned out to be pretty productive and good so far.

Much more cleaning and the like. Also got in a full heavy session of yoga and managed to contort myself into a (weird) pose for the first.

Started the day with Christmas pudding for breakfast.....not sure if to put this in the good/not so good column. :)

@NYJmpMaster Enjoy the family time. I love babies. I like your reply--so true that you will remember.

I've brought soft, chewy ginger cookies for everyone! :)

Thanks for all your encouraging words to us, @NYJmpMaster. I hope your trip to see your 10-month-old grandson is filled with wonderful stuff for memories!
@cymbele, how absolutely kind of you to take your chocolate to the shelter! And I wish I were as organized you are. I'm still baking my gifts. One more batch of cookies to go. :)
Mmmm. Roasted chicken and veg dinner! Thank you @Acanthi for the invitation. I'll be there soon. lol
Wow, @souncide 12 hours of sleep. Could you function on naps during the day and no long night-time sleep? (I don't think it would work for me.)
Thank you @Rockclimbinggirl for the chocolate and cookies! Were you climbing Chocolate Chip Mountain again?
@baywasp *hug* Depending on your own beliefs and what you enjoy, perhaps there is a Christmas Eve or Christmas Day church service that you could attend. Some services are beautiful with candle lighting and carols - even if they don't reflect our own beliefs they can be lovely. I agree with @AlexiMarie7 that good things can arrive unexpectedly.
@AlexiMarie7 Thank you for offering hope - it's a message we could all use sometimes...and just by offering it, you have given me more reason to hope (if that makes sense?). *hug* And by the way, Christmas Pudding for breakfast sounds yummy! I'd eat that. :)

Happy Holidays to everyone!
