Hello café peeps - hope everyone is having a glorious day. I am still technically in bed; I can't believe it is Friday already! :( I suspect my nasty cold will clear up just in time for me to go back to work but not in time for me to actually enjoy any of my time off, but such is life lol.

I am not sure I like any foods that most people do not like. I have quite "normal" food tastes. I am working quite hard at not putting things in my body that have zero nutritional value - not great at it but I have definitely reduced the amount of total junk I eat.

Christmas tree went up yesterday so my living room is very pretty and sparkly now. The first lot of xmas gifts for wrapping will be arriving today. Hopefully I will get motivated enough to actually wrap them!

Hope everyone has a splendid day!

Good morning/afternoon!
I don't like any really different foods, I'm more able to name foods I don't like that most people like (like pizza).
I'm tired, and gonna try relax later with a hot water bottle.
Hope you all feel good, and wishing you all a meaningful, centred, safe day

I too don't have many such foods. or maybe i had em, but since its been ages I havent eaten well. so maybe i have forgotten... because I am quite unique, considering all life matters...
But I guess my daily or these few months habit of eating is what ppl wont like.

sad friday.

and i hope this post is relevant to some extent. srry if not.

have a better friday.

Still haven't heard from my friend about hanging out, but I'm not going to bug him. Maybe he'll message me later. Had a good meeting with my service coordinator. She was really nice and seems like she can help me with things I never even thought of. Like she can get me a winter coat at no cost. Gonna go downtown regardless of whether I hear from my friend though. Maybe try the new banh mi place in Lawrenceville, a hip neighborhood I've never been to.

For my answer to the challenge today, I have a short little story. When I was in about 11, 6th grade, I think, my gifted class (students who had tested into the gifted program got pulled out of regular classes once a week for some supplemental learning) studied the brain. At the end of the unit, the teacher brought in 2 pig brains. We dissected one, and then the teacher fried up the other. We went around the school offering some of the other teachers some of the fried pig brains after we had tried it ourselves. Most of the teachers were too grossed out to even try it, but I thought it was delicious.

So, good and bad news. My former neighbors (and current friends) from where I grew up invited my to stay with them over Christmas. Sounds great, except I can't afford the train or bus tickets. She offered to ask my mother to pay for it for me, but I'm not too optimistic about that happening. More bad news: my friend that I was talking about at the beginning of the last post still hasn't gotten back to me. If I see him online on Facebook, I'm going to ask him what's going on. Screw not wanting to bother him; I want to know.

A food I like that most people don't...probably herring. I eat it mostly around New Year's for good luck.
Feeling disappointed because they told me not to come in again today. I don't need a three day weekend every week. I need enough income to live on.

Hey, long time no see. Life's been crazy these past months, but I won't go in detail.
Since Monday I've been trying to change my eating habits, and today I spoke to a cousin who is a nutritionist to see what kind of diet I can do. Let's see if it'll work.

@Rockclimbinggirl...did you mean I'm decorating the pizzas or the Café? Here are ideas for both:

In keeping with the decorations often seen in December - a bagel pizza:

Fruit lovers unite:

For those with a sweet tooth:

Now to spruce up the Café as a traditional pizzeria...I've redone the interior with old brick and local knick knacks:

It took some doing, but thanks to @NYJmpMaster, we installed a wood-fired pizza oven! Mama mia it was a lot of work!

We brought in some experts to teach us how to spin the pies - a test will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. sharp. Don't miss it!

Thanks to everyone for helping out:

@baywasp and @sufferinga for setting the tables for in-house diners
@Rockclimbinggirl for writing spamming other places with the Café Pizzeria URL for delivery orders
@NYJmpMaster for all the construction
@Freya for doing all the posters to advertise
@Witty_Sarcasm and @Innocent Forever for offering samples to passerby - real "word of mouth" advertising
@Brian777 for suggesting the pet refreshment station
@Petal for finding the best mozzarella cheese in town
@Mr Stewart for being first to volunteer in "spin class" with the dough

...and also to anyone I might have overlooked in the rush - wow it's been busy in here today!
