Since it's Canada Day....thought we could use some cake....and some fireworks (early for those of us south of the border)...

Interesting facts (have to admit thank google since live south of the border)....roughly 30% of Canada is forest...they have overpasses made for wildlife...the origin of Winnie the Pooh...and so many other good things...have been to BC and it is a beautiful and magical place which hope to visit again soon....

Happy Canada Day! Here are some interesting facts I found about our friendly neighbors to the north:

1. Canada has six time zones!
2. Canadians call the one dollar, the loonie. When in full production, they produce 15 million loonies per day!
3. Canada has the world’s smallest jail – in Rodney, Ontario; it’s only 24.3 square metres (270 square feet).
4. Canadians are some of the happiest and friendliest people on the planet! :)

Though it's not red, I brought some Poutine, one of my favorite foods from Canada!

umm... Canada facts... Canada is cool. A lot of people like ice hockey there. I wish I could live in Quebec.

This afternoon I have my animal shelter volunteer orientation. That's exciting.

Damn right it looks good, but not to be connfused with "poitin" which I believe is Irish moonshine....
Also not to be confused with the French word "putain". Some of the kids in my middle school French class years ago took a field trip to Quebec. We stopped by Chez Ashton to try some poutine... and one of the kids walked up to the counter and requested "une putain." For people who are not familiar with French, he literally ordered a prostitute instead of delicious fries by accident.

Happy Canada Day!!

During the night I painted the back wall of Jim's Café with the official Canada 150 logo:

Thanks to @JacsMom and @Brian777 for blowing up the balloons. (Helium makes me sound funny...You too, btw... lol)

A special guest will drop by today to hand out Canadian Flags.

@Freya and @NYJmpMaster, thanks for the budget to provide a swag bag to every member who posts to request one.

And finally, when you come into the Café, pick up the mic and do a sing along of the National Anthem of Canada. (This one is in English; there is a French version as well, but not posted here.)
